Certainly it was our best home game crowd against Claremont for a number of years.

What was the catkyst for that Swan. Claremont have 5 fans these days

WP v S tend to be rivals so 2000 plus OK

the other two EF v P poor and SF v P poor but to be expected.

Sorry sight those figures. It's fair to say that majority of WAFL supporters are over the age of 50. I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful to those that are but when these men and women fall off the perch who will be left to go to the games.

IMO you would be lucky to have around 10% of your membership base at each club that are between the 18-30 demographic. This is where each club, the commission and anyone associated with the running of this great competition needs to look at how we get this age demographic more involved at the games. It is these young men and women that will be coming to the games in the next 20-30 years.

Yep, I'm afraid to say that we're back to the days of 1998-2007 when we fell below 2,000

1998 - 1,728
1999 - 1,742
2000 - 1,825
2001 - 1,948
2002 - 1,749
2003 - 1,671
2004 - 1,820
2005 - 1,834
2006 - 1,895
2007 - 1,943
2008 - 2,006
2009 - 2,304
2010 - 2,211
2011 - 2,211
2012 - 2,077
2013 - 2,018

2014 - 1,892

That's a massive drop off there La Hincha. Almost as bad as the drop in 1998. I would say that was because of the second AFL team in WA, the Fremantle Dockers.

Honestly mate and I hate to say it but if something's not done soon it might get to an average of 1600 next year or less.

There's still a flicker of hope though but as I said they need to act soon before the fire goes out.

Not many Tigers there but Swans have a large supporter base as that figure backs up.
Also I see Swans have over 10,000 facebook fans which is double the next best WAFL club tally which is EF!

Not sure Bazza as our crowds against Claremont in recent times have been pretty poor. Hopefully, it marks a resurgence in our home crowds.

Should be interesting to see what the crowd will be for our next home game against Subiaco on 7th June.

Years ago I used to watch quite a few AFL games on TV. Then I only started watching one per week. Now I usually don't watch any AFL games.

For a neutral like me the game is no longer a spectacle like it was.

Yep, I understand that part of that is getting old and living in the past but all the exciting things about our game are slowly but surely being removed by coaches/rule makers. Players aren't allowed to be instinctive anymore.
