No the AHG jobs for the players isn't exaggerated, I know this for an absolute fact through another sponsor of East Perth who is also an arm of AHG..Olsen hit the nail on the head..and I heard some of those players have agreed to play less games for the same $. It is a laughing stock!!!

Royal 2019, no doubt the boys do love the Club & the comradarie of their mates. This year will set the tone. Many will be going into the season believing they are loved by the Club. That may change when they find they are at the behest of the controlling AFL Club. In one week, out the next. Senior players are shunted down the pecking order when AFL players return from injury & inturn seconds players do not play for their "beloved" club, but return to their local club instead. Colts players opportunities of promotion will be limited in this scenario. Eventually people get jack of being used & abused & will depart. Yes some who leave may not have cut the mustard, but the heart & soul of the clubs are not always the champions. It it those within the club that make it great...players, coaches, President /Committees, trainers, runners & supporters!!! Talk of bonding & love of Club. To me it starts at the bottom...young blokes at colts level playing with their mates.Developing into men, sharing the hardships & celebrations together as a team over a number of years earning respect within the framework of the Club & being given the opportunity to work their way up the ranks. Under the current system players are turned over each year...that is the nature of the beast. Have no doubts though this system will turn over players far quicker. Players going to the aligned team will have aspirations of playing in the AFL. The playing for Club aspect is lost..it is a production line. Once they perceive that opportunity has passed they move on & a new batch of hopefuls arrive with the same dreams as those departing. No love of Club...just an opportunity for the bigtime. This aligment is for the benefit of the West Coast Eagles.East Perth as an entity on its own with a proud history & the WAFL with its proud history...Hah step aside the AFL boys have taken over & we are running show to suit our needs. No room for soul or loyalty... this is big business!!!

What annoys me is that the coach of East Perth and/or Peel can identify a position they'll be short in their WAFL team which isn't covered by AFL players or their existing WAFL squad and get the AFL club to "rookie draft" a player to fill the gap, may never be put on the senior list, thus avoiding "recruiting restrictments".

Jimmy, a good but very far fetched notion.

I cannot imagine either of the VFL teams being willing to spend the salary on a rookie just so their aligned club could fill a gap, mmm bit like the Russian sub and the PM

Not wishing to be argumentative Swandog but do you know how many players work directly or indirectly for AHG. I do and trust me it is not many at all it is exaggerated like most information on this site. On another point are you naive enough to think the salary cap is relevant to what players are paid in the WAFL. And East Perth wouldn't be the worst culprit by far. But there are ways and means around such things at this level of sport. Blame all the presidents of the WAFL for this contrived league we have. They should have allowed the AFL clubs to have their own sides as a starting point and made the best of it from there.

Big names have walked already im predicting SD Peel dockers and EP eagles bottom 3. Looking at AFL leftovers in the budget most are hacks especially Freos so cant see them dominating considering most WAFL level guys chop up their AFL listed opponent's on the paddock on saturdays.

I agree with the observation that the WAFL elite carve up the AFL inserts weekly when they are pitted against them.
Yes there are a couple who have maintained their respect as AFL footy players but generally they have their arses handed to them with the following statement - WTF, how did they make the AFL??
The two AFL aligned clubs are going to self destruct without assist from anyone and the two AFL clubs in WA and the AFL generally have it on their breakfast lunch and dinner plate to chop up between them and swallow the big one!!

Not sure what your taking but you need a new doctor.

I was at the club today and as of today there was news of players leaving or any change.

Oh and today we had 75+ boys for the first colts session. Seems the boys are better judges that the scribes on here!
