I was wondering if anyone could tell me who were the last coaches to win a premeirship coaching their club of origin,

Mal Brown EP was the last for us, I think.

Could cause some issues with the origin bit!

Ken Judge for EF in 94, not sure if Micale started at South as a player or East Frem, I was too young

I suppose that depends on what you mean by "club of origin"? Did they have to play for that club (or could they have come from elsewhere and never played WAFL)? If they had to play, did they have to play league footy? And I assume you are limiting it to having coached the first WAFL club they played for?

If those are the rules, then I reckon it's:

Claremont - Darrell Panizza (1996)
East Fremantle - Ken Judge (1994)
East Perth - Mal Brown (1972)
Perth - Ken Armstrong (1977)
South Fremantle - John Todd (1997)
Subiaco - Ross Smith (1973)
Swan Districts - Brian Dawson (2010)
West Perth - Darren Harris (2003)

Anchor, yep well aware of Ross Smith's past... But Subi was his first WAFL club. Which was why I asked exactly what counted for "club of origin".
Darren Harris also played senior footy in the Ovens & Murray league before joining West Perth, including a flag in 1987.
As for Tony Micale, he played 16 games for South before joining Old Easts, where he played another 58.

The club of origin was where they played their first league games, whether it be in the WAFL, VFL or any other league.

So to my mind Ross Smith was not a Subi origin player as he came from Saint Kilda, Harris would qualify because he did not play in the VFL, picky but that was I meant!

No worries, Grump. In that case, I reckon it's a long way back to Subi's last club-of-origin coach.
In 1924 Tom Cain coached them to a flag and, though he played for a couple of WAFL clubs, I'm pretty sure Subi was his first (he played in their flag-winning teams of 1912 and 1913.
Cain's an interesting figure. He was brother-in-law of WA Premier Joseph Scaddan (whose brothers played for Subiaco and Carlton respectively).
He ended up at East Fremantle and was accused of throwing the 1919 WAFL Grand Final v East Perth by "playing dead" for money. East Freo suspended him from playing after an internal hearing. I think the suspension was for life.
He then applied for a clearance to South and, from memory, the WAFL eventually stepped in and forced the clearance through.
He coached Subi for a couple of years, including the 1924 flag (his first year as coach).

Yes, given I thought Ross Smith qualified then Mann and Johnson would also have qualified before Grump's clarification.
However, Grump asked for the "last coaches to win a premeirship coaching their club of origin". Given Ken Judge coached East Freo to a flag in 1994 and John Todd coached South to a flag in 1997, it was not necessary to go back as far as either Johnson or Mann.
As for Gieschen, he would not have qualified because he never played for West Perth, he only coached the club.
I'm not sure who you are referring to with Claremont, though. Panizza in 1996 was the last club-of-origin premiership coach (Webb and McPhee were not Claremont players). Before that, it would have been Moss in 81 (Neesham in 87, 91 & 93 was not a club-of-origin player).
The 1964 Claremont premiership coach was East Freo player Jim Conway. And, before that, Subi player John Leonard coached them to a three-peat in 1938, 39 & 40.
