I can see why claremont wanted a salary cap increase, how else could they afford Bolton and Fisher.
Subi don’t need to pay top players on the books, that’s why they don’t want the increase

And Swans are angels when it comes to honest booking aren't they?

it's not really an increase as such - more a near return to what was the normal cap

I’d like to see the WAFL have the highest salary cap in the country outside of the AFL.

Any comment on the Four other clubs that supported the salary cap increase?

They must be like claremont and have trouble fitting recruits into their cap

Reckon it was a god send for SD when Giro plumped for Subi.....would of thought whatever monies SD had put aside for Giro, were quickly needed to keep Fisher at Steel Blue....surely SD salary cap is tighter then most clubs, especially  with their ES boys on good coin, plus Gault, Notte and Jetta also on the books....I remember the last time SD got creative with their book keeping....got very messy indeed.

LOL maybe stick to the health sector Nurse Betty!

The 4 E/S boys were vfl players (Palmer the only one who was on an afl main list and played 3 games, whilst Fisher had been at Sydney as a local nsw/act rookie) so would hardly be on the "good coin" as you apparently "know"!
Jetta has retired I believe whilst Notte has been the marquee player who are outside of the salary cap or at least a proportion and wouldnt be on the same money as he commanded a few years back as a veteran now anyway!
Anderson wont play next year with his knee injury.
Riggio and Howard have also retired who were long term servants.

One could wonder how EF have managed to squeze ex AFL players (those that actually played and where on the main list) who were originally from other WAFL clubs like Schoenfeld, Dixon, Boekhorst, English, Kommer, Tucker etc  into their already tight salary cap with the likes of Marsh, Eardley, Leggett, Jansen & co you would expect commanding good coin?
And I believe you were in the running for Giro as well hmmmm???

Also despite our financial issues some time back I dont remember us having to resort to a gofundme begging expedition either!

BH interesting that you pointed out that your ES boys were mainly VFL players and hardly on good coin, so I guess the same applies to Subi's ex VFL boys, Kitchen, Dela & Harris and of course the unwanted discards from other WAFL clubs like Sokol and Rohde would be on a pittance.

Well they couldn’t be on good coin compared to Lockyer, Litherland and Matera who all rejected offers from their original wafl clubs to play at Subi.
