Yes I think 2016 was the bottom of the barrel but 2018 and 2019 were not much better. I'm pretty sure that our total points score for was at an all time low in 2016. It was just boring footy to watch. This year has been much better and I am looking forward to the game at Freo this week
If one analyses our games, both EP matches are perfect examples of this, we are able to kick a number of goals in a quarter but struggle to score in the other 3 quarters.  This inability to score consistently throughout a match allow the better teams to win most of the games against us.

Haven't SD recruited more then enough over the last 2 years.....those 4 E.S boys are crucial to SD progress not only over the coming weeks, but into 2022....have you guys got any potential returning AFL guys?.....with SD colts and reserves entrenched in the finals, surely development is the way to go for SD?
How many of those can we expect to play for us for the next 5 years?  It will probably be Riggio's last year.

I took this off topic, my apologies. This is about the order of the top 5. My tip is
1 Subiaco
2 South Freo
3.West Perth
4. Claremont
5. Swans.

So if this happens Swans will play 2 weeks in a row at Claremont Oval which may be a benefit.

If so Mike, hope it doesn't rain given they forgot to build the roof over the stand seating!!

Subi look in the box seat to take the minor Premiership.
Not sure Swans can beat a side above them away from Bassendean.Defently not West Perth.
Will our weather anomaly continue. The negative Indian Ocean Diphole. And bring rain in September. They say it will continue to rain all through Summer.
Wet finals probably favour South +Subi.Dry and warm would be to the liking of Claremont and West Perth.
Having seen all teams play in 2021.West Perth look a really good chance. But have been up for a while now.Very open top 4 this year.

Barring a massive upset next week, its looking that the first week of the finals will be
SF v C at Fremantle
WP v SD at Joondalup.

Bad loss for West Perth at Shark Park yesterday, likely to cost them a shot at a double chance.

SF fans may have reason to be aggrieved at the Eagles fielding an uncompetitive team against Claremont. Before that game, SF had a % gap of about 9. Now it's less than 1%, so SF may drop to third. Just another example of how the Eagle's refusal to take the WAFL seriously can impact teams that do. Given SF themselves play the Eagles this week, it will probably amount to nothing, but it is disrespectful to send out second rate teams like the one that played yesterday. Especially when the Eagles themselves publicly admitted their top-up players aren't up to league standard.

Ted, considering Cl and SF are swapping opponents next weekend, one would think SF will have more then ample opportunity to pick up a few percentage....but agree I hope WCE play fair and above board by picking NicNat, Shuey etc v SF and get their club off the bottom.....leaving Perth....to you know what?

Not the point, Freeze. Yes, it may all pan out this time, but what if EF were in the 5 on % and the 6th placed team played a second rate WCE team? And, yes, I know Subi got a huge % boost against Perth, but that wasn't because we tanked, we were decimated by injuries. That is part of footy. A club deliberately fielding a team they know to be uncompetitive is not. And, no, I'm not talking about Nic Nat, etc, I'm talking fringe players. I know some had to quarantine, but the end result is still that 9 out of 10 teams do their best and try to win and only one doesn't. The problem is that their lack of focus on winning can skew results for other clubs.

With Subi playing a loaded up Peel next weekend and Souths an undermanned WCER there's every chance positions could be swapped if Subi lose and Souths win big time given there's only 3% difference.
