Dear all, if your club put in a bid you should be ashamed. Each club should have just written in with a two word submission. ‘The stadium.’
Well the club i follow did not submit a bid so i guess i should not feel ashamed - am a little surprised they didn't though. I thought our ground would be the perfect place to hold it. Would of been the biggest thing to happen there since Pink Floyd.

The apparent re-think or backflip is a good one
Hopefully this becomes a non negotiable into our future - hopefully

Finally the right decision has been made for our comp. As others have said, we need to get all WAFL people on board buying tickets and dragging others who occasionally or haven't been to a WAFL game or GF, no matter who's playing. You cant rant and rave that the games not at the Stadium then decide not to go because a certain team is playing, I hate Joondy and not a particular fan of Swans but if those two or any other combination play I'll be there.

It's now up to the WAFC to properly promote the game, some decent media build up surrounding the Sandover (get it back on TV) and Grand final week would be a good start, some sensible pricing for tickets, keep all the seats in the lower tiers, maybe look at a dusk/ night game so all seats are shaded and we get use of those amazing light shows, let the clubs sell seats with a discount for club members (the heart and soul of the WAFL).

It aint rocket science!!

Just depends how Optus Management run it mate into the future, as long as they are reasonable on the costings and don't try and fleece a comp that is reliant on subsidies to stay afloat then that keeps it viable, remember the venue is out of control of the comp.

The other thing is we need to get away from the idea that the ground needs to be filled, as it does not.

Spot on AR.
Any crowd over 20,000 makes for a great atmosphere at Perth Stadium as long as they are spread out all over the stadium and not confined to one section of the ground!

That's strange logic there Ark, the juxtaposition is an empty stadium is good. Surely the fuller the better!

Just on that topic, an interesting study has been the current euro 2020 being played.
There is been a blend of crowds allowances at various stadia.

In the UK, I think it was 25% while at others its been 100%.

For example there were 20,000 allowed to Wembley for the Scotland v England game.

But they had 60,000 at a full stadium for Hungary v France.

The difference was truly palpable. In Budapest the noise, scenes and atmosphere was incredible..you really realise just how much passion a massive crowd brings.

The England v Scotland which at time time seemed just OK would ordinarily would of been roof lifting was by comparison pretty lame.
