I see the AFL has over-ruled the WAFC and mandated Treacy can serve his suspension across the AFL season and not the WAFL season as set out in WAFC regulations.  That means he misses one more game then is eligible to play for Freo instead of sitting out 3 more weeks as per WAFL fixtering.  A bloody joke and another example of how the AFL doesn't give a toss about state league comps when it can arbitrarily over-rule local regulations.

Just make him serve the penalty next time he is dropped to the WAFL. AFL clubs should have to prove the player was going to be selected in the squad of 22, or 23 as now we have a sub. In this case Fremantle would be able to do that quite easily given their horrific injury list.

In that case I don't mind AFL games are included in the suspension but I can see AFL clubs exploiting that. I would say that is why the rule was made that the player must serve the suspension in the competition he received the penalty. I bet my left nut players suspended in the WAFL in the past have used AFL fixtures to wipe out their suspension while they were never a realistic chance to play for their AFL club while their WAFL club had a bye.

In some cases a WAFL club might have a bye either side of a state game which is a bye weekend for WAFL clubs. Meaning his suspension could be wiped out if the AFL club uses AFL fixtures and he was never going to be selected.

Good, prefer him to play for freo than the possibility of him helping peel to get wins

Just have WAFL start the same week as AFL, problem solved

Because he was reported in a WAFL game and suspended by the WAFL tribunal under WAFC rules.  Why all of a sudden would he serve that suspension in AFL games when the WAFL hasn't even started?  If these interlopers aren't prepared to play by WAFL regulations when playing in our comp them maybe the 2 AFL teams should get their players who are not required in the AFL team each week to go play somewhere else.

Every time I look at that footage it makes me sick. How the fuck anyone can defend that and call it unintentional is laughable. That was a haymaker designed to cause maximum damage and Treacy is just dead set lucky that didn’t land on Brady Greys jaw and break it.

And watching Pavlich and Michael Thompson make light of Patrick Dangerfield’s bump calling it an accidental head clash and couldn’t be avoided, he was just protecting himself. Seriously Mathew I thought you were better than that.
