Couple of interesting results. Quinns look like they dominated again, and probably should have won by more. Mosman Park get on the board with a big win. Warnbro being pushed by Canning is a great sign for the competition. Bassendean back on track with their second big win in two weeks.

From a Canningvale perspective;

Colts:
SNESA forfeit. Disappointing, but I did mention the effects that GTM may have on some sides this week.

Reserves:
Our boys again tried hard, with the Colts having a week off, two or three of them got to make their Reserves Debut. SNESA too much run, experience and class. Our guys will keep plodding along though and will be back next week.

League:
I did my hammy in the first quarter, so got to watch the majority of the match. As expected SNESA came out hard after last years GF defeat and were in front for the first three quarters of the game only for our boys to dig deep and click into gear for the final quarter. I am hearing both sides had two or three debutants which is a good sign for both clubs. Few beers and laughs had afterwards which was good too though I must say - $8 bourbans - SHAFTED! aha
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

Does Mosman Parks win reduce the relegation battle to three (Kenwick, Valley and Manning)???

At the top end Quinn's seem unstoppable with Warnbro perhaps the only side in the same league

another week done

Bassendean V Kenwick
Colts

we folded our colts early, GTM took it's toll so we decided to drop the colts into the reserves and league.

Reserves
our plan for the colts didn't quite come off as just before we were supposed to get ready we only had 14 fully fit players. so me and a couple of other League boys played, we had 3 injured players suit up as emergencies even our president suited up for his second competitive game in at least 10 years probably more like 20(i'm his son and i've seen him play once). the game as the score shows was a tussle all game. with me being dominated in the ruck by an actual ruckman i think i won 1 tap and maybe drew a handfull. a final goal in the last minute put basso up by 2 points and we couldn't get the ball in time.

League
this game was made up of 2 very different halves showing we can play footy we just need to show it for longer periods. basso came out with a bang and by halftime they where up by 13 goals. their full forward who i was told was a colt had 6 goals and they were just controlling the game. after the half we seemed to come out to play and managed to not let the game blow out any further than it already had and started to attack the ball with some purpose which has been sorely lacking. i got the job on the full forward in the second half and managed to keep him to 1.2 but that can likely be attributed to us starting to contest all over the ground meaning the delivery wasn't as good as it had been. we are definetly building and will show some more before the years out and aren't planning on getting relegated if we can help it.

a seemingly improved Mossie park next week at home looking forward to a good tussle followed by our first function.

Looking at the clearances on Sportingpulse, 7 players leaving Kenwick in the last week must be a worry!
And 3 of them to Canning?

I also know that SNESA have picked up a tasty half-forward flanker from Armadale. Not sure if the clearance has gone through yet though. Very much an enigma, but can't deny the kid CAN play!

yeh it happens. a few left because the travel to get here was too much so wanted to play closer to home can't blame them. the canning 3 are brothers and they decided they didn't like the way the club was heading. will be interesting playing against them in a couple of weeks. 1 went country 1 went to victoria.

On two weeks leave so will update the tips later! A severely depleted Valley put up a great fight against Quinns on Saturday. Admittedly they kicked a lot of points but bad kicking is bad footy as they say and The Valley got to within 3 kicks late in the game. Quinns kicked the last 3 to pull right away. Having now played the top 5 teams I think Warnbro are the best we have played although it will be tight as CVPSP showed on Saturday, Will be very interesting as they now start playing each other. Likewise at the bottom end with every four points vital to survival.
Footy first!

Hopefully you blokes can pull together and field 3 teams every week for the rest of the year! Very tough when blokes are doubling up this early in the season.

As our colts are part of the Laurie Keen colts ill put a comment piece up.
The GTM festival had a major impact on us as well. We had 12 colts aged players missing but managed to get 21 down to Warnbro and after 5 minutes were down to 20. Was a great effort by the lads, some of whom have had little to no training.
They gained an advantage early with Warnbro missing early shots and the young Viewers making the most of their opportunities.
2nd qtr was much the same with our boys holding Warnbro goalless when they had the breeze.
The 3rd qtr had a major bearing on the game as we were able to build on the lead which in the end was too much for Warnbro to peg back in the last. They had more run late as our fill ins got tired and our lack of rotations due to the numbers out caught up with us but the lads dig deep and got a very important 4 points.
The lads are now looking forward to taking on an undefeated Canning Vale this week.
