Interesting results. Alarm bells must be ringing at Thornlie and Kingsley. Melville lost at home and Kingsway got smashed by Kelmscott. Mr Mysterious any scores from Wanneroo v Ocean Ridge please???

Come on Onion Ridge is it that hard to put the scores in?
The BiGRoo you are correct, however the question was directed at me, so please take a back seat.

When I awoke on Saturday morning I knew today was going to be a good day. Then I realised that I had to go Heathridge Oval today and my mood soured. I copped some criticism for saying Heathridge Oval was the worst ground in the WAAFL, after my visit on Saturday my view has stayed the same if not strengthened.

The colts game kicked off and scoring seemed to be difficult, not sure if it was due to the defensive pressure or the fact trying to get the ball from one end to the other takes an eternity. Typical Colts game, a few heroes thought they might be "cool" and throw a few cheap ones after the ball had passed.
Wanneroo ran out winners by 3 goals.

The Reserves game was about to start and Mr Mysterious was hungry, however due to the fact that the canteen was 200 metres away, I decided to forgo food at this time. As I watched the Reserves game unfold, Wanneroo were wasteful with there chances, even missing shots from the goal square. (But I'm still sure the ball was a goal, I think the goal umpire was trying to keep Onion Ridge in it). Wanneroo ended up playing a better second half and the result never looked in doubt. Wanneroo ran out winners by 50 odd points

By this stage of the day I was becoming borderline malnourished (any longer without food and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would have adopted me). So off to the canteen it was. Well done to the hard working staff of the canteen at Onion Ridge who accommodated me.

I was looking forward to the League game, a replay of last years Elimination Final. Before I get into the game here's a fun stat for you. Wanneroo League side hadn't won in there grey alternative jumper since the 2010 GF.

The game was looking quite even in the first quarter, with Wanneroo making some skill errors, the second quarter was alot better with Wanneroo starting to find there feet ( very hard at a ground where the surface shifts under you when walking on it) it was looking like a 5 goal lead at HT but Onion Ridge kicked 2 late ones to give them some hope of a second half revival. It wasmt to be however Wanneroo played very well in the 3rd quarter and led by 50 points. I was looking for them to keep the foot on the throat, they didn't do that and let OR kick a few goals in the last. They still did run out 50 point winners thought so well done.

Also well done to Ocean Ridge, who had ladies day and wore pink socks for the occasion, it's all for a good cause fellas so well done. I look forward to ours on May18th.

I'd like to hear how the other games went Coolbinia West Perth over Melville, how is the Panda coping?.

Remember, Mr Mysterious knows who you are, but do you know him..

Obviously it is May already and the real Kingsway is back. Would love to hear a write up from that game......

Mr Mysterious.....thank you for the write up, always enjoy reading them, best thing about a Monday, other than today I saw an asian kid fall down the stairs at the trainstation in the morning. Was hilarious. How did number 14 go? Seems to be a bit of a cult hero on here, presume he had another good game and stood out? Whooooooo.

Would also like to see a write up from Panda, obviously not the result most of us had picked. What has changed down in Melville and CWP?

gee a few interesting results this week, the whole comp has suddenly become very close.

this old falcon spread his wings and made his way to auskick park, melville for a a few good games of footy and the view from the melville balcony with a frosty pint. Despite the small size of the ground, the facilities of the rams/ the tennis club is a welcome site for an ardent ammos supporter, anyway onto the games.

it was a shame this week to hear about melville's colts forfeiting, from what a gather quite a few young falcons were disappointed to miss out on a hit out this weekend and it is never good news to hear about clubs losing colts sides midway through the season.

the magoos was another dominant display against the boys from yokine, who at times looked top heavy and one paced. take nothing away from melville's ressies who seemed to be pretty well drilled and played very well deserving their big win.

the real deal was the league game though and this supporter was looking and hoping for a good close spectacle. The first half was awesome footy with both sides going goal for goal and no side really getting on top. it became apparent that whichever side wins the centre bounce clearance generally has a huge advantage at melville and the game became a slog fest up until half time, where the rams held a 1 point advantage.

the 3rd quarter was going to become the crucial quarter as CWP got a break on the rams, restricting them to a couple of points, while kicking a few snags themselves. the game got bit heated with a scuffle and a couple of yellow cards as the contest turned up a few degrees which is always good to see (it wasn't serious and no one got hurt, nothing wrong with a bit heat in the game). the lead was about 4 goals at 3 qtr time.

the final qtr was a tale of 2 cities with cwp peppering their goals early on but not being able to get that final sealing goal, the rams are a quality unit so it was no surprise to this falcon that they would break through and start scoring goals, they kicked a couple late in the qtr and this falcon got a little bit nervous, but the falcons held them out to walk away winners in a tight game.

only sour note from an otherwise great day was hearing whispers on the saturday night about a young player from the falcons being reported (by a goal umpire!) early in the game for striking (could it have been a falcon punch LOL) the whispers i heard was that there wasn't very much in it, but i hope no one was hurt and i hope that the case gets thrown out if there wasn't anything in it - keen to hear more about it if anyone from melville has a perspective on it (i could be completely wrong :P ).

Solid write up Falcon.

League was pretty much goal for goal other than a patch from late in the second to midway through the third where CWP kicked 5-6 in a row and set up the match winning lead. From what I saw #18 was very good and set up many centre clearances through some handy tap work from your ruckmen.

Can't say we have heard anything of a report, I know one young bloke got concussed but as far as I know it was in the play and wouldn't be going any further. The yellow cards seemed a little on the soft side but given all the games being called off at the moment maybe the umpires are looking to get on the front foot.

Ressies was pretty much as you said with Melville being in control all day but not making the most of their opportunities. They put the foot down a little in the last and extended the margin late 80+ points.

It is a shame about our colts and obviously a inconvenience for all other clubs. Unfortunatley we just couldn't get the numbers together to field a side on a weekly basis, may have something to do with NF having 100+ colts on the books.

Not a massive fan of this OZ Footy forum, mainly because there is significantly less traffic then the old footy goss.

Good to see a pretty good comp in the C1's this season. A few suprises and the likes of Kelmy and Gossy haven't been as dominant as was mentioned in Pre-Season.

Thornlie and Kingsley look set to struggle and what has happened to Kingsway?
