Today at Brown Park I was privileged to watch some of the best football I've seen Swan View play in recent times.
It was a top of the table clash where one team was far superior than the other. From the outset Swan View dominated the contest and at qtr time were 8 goals up. The dominance continued in the 2nd qtr and with this came frustration from Roleystone and seeing as though they couldn't win the ball they decided to niggle and play the man,didn't work,Swan View kicked 9 goals to 1 in the term.
3rd qtr and the niggle continued and soon turned to snipering as the Roleystone boys couldn't handle the strong tackling and clear skill advantage of The View..
When enough was enough and the weak pricks started snipering the young blokes the senior boys stepped in to let them know it was uncalled for,maybe win a hard ball instead of a biff.
It wasn't an all in brawl but a melee between probably 8 from either side and 2 heroes from Roleystone decide to split a young bloke 2 on 1. The 3qtr time siren goes,the dust settles and the teams are headed to the huddles when they call the game off.
The umpires never consulted either coach or captains. It's not hard to warn either team that if any further trouble occurs then the game is off.
However,Roleystone did seem happy that they stuck up for each other by giving a group clap soon after. Well boys,it's probably better than giving a group clap for a solid team effort on the scoreboard instead of thinking you won a fight. Bunch of scum.

Why would Swan View be interested in retaliating,having a melee and risk the game being called off when absolutely dominating? It does get to a point when they have blokes running in from everywhere to out number the 2-3 we had in there that enough is enough and you've got to go in and stick up for your mate ,especially when 2 of there bigger blokes are throwing cheap shots at a young bloke and split him.
We did have one incident up at the change rooms with a supporter of ours which we will put our hands up to and it will be dealt with but when your 20 goals up at 3qtr time it's not because your more worried about niggling and snipering,it's generally because you've made the ball the object.
Roleysyones demeanour,attitude and intent for winning the hard ball changed once they were 13 goals down late in the 2nd qtr and it was the younger players they tried to rough up,I can guarantee you that up until the melee there was no retaliation what so ever.
Anyway the melee went for probably 2-3 minutes with only a few punches thrown and both teams were heading to the huddle. IMO the umpires should've called both coaches and captains in,warned both teams that any further melee would result in the game being called and that red and ye
llow cards will be used. At the end of the day that is why they have them.
Surely Swan View gets the win as it will set a dangerous precident if the game is a determined a draw.

Yeah because a team who is winning by 120+ points at 3rd qtr is gonna start a brawl. Have a think about it viper. And the win has to go to swan view otherwise it sets the precedent that if you're losing just start a brawl and you'll get a draw at least.

In any game of football there's 1 one team that niggles and the other pokes. At time one pokes too far and the other niggles back further.

Don't get on here and tell everyone how much of a team of angels you are when no one believes it. 20 goals up I can guarantee your team were a bunch of mouthy f*cks as much they were niggling snipering f*cks. Deal with it instead of sooking online coz no one cares.

Have a look at 2 weeks ago Ballajura Vs Dianella. In the end there was so many stories do you know how many people care? NONE!! It ruined the game of AFL because it was called off and I've no doubt both teams are embarrassed by it like you should be.

You didn't stick up for your mates. You had a game called off and now want to blame the other team.

I doubt swan view will get the points because our game was at half time and they didn't even consider it trying stamp this shit out of the game we were told

You weren't at the game so you can't guarantee bugger all. Would you really stand there and watch a young player of yours get taken to by 2 of the oppositions players with more of them entering the melee?
IMO plenty of people care when a game gets called off and with reference to the game a couple of weeks ago being a draw,it was a 2 point margin at half time. By calling this game a draw it will not help to stamp it out. Instead it will encourage teams who are behind to go the niggle and the sniper when all else fails.
Say for instance a team needs 2 points to avoid relegation and is playing the top side and has no hope,then if getting flogged start a brawl,game called off and your saved. It's not in the spirit of the game the way Roleystone conducted themselves from in the 3rd term and if it is to be stamped from our game then teams who are up by 20 goals should get the win.
The thing that really disappointed me was when they gave themselves a group clap for what they thought was a good effort. It clearly wasn't for the effort they put in with regards to the scoreboard.
