No one said they wouldn’t be competitive, but with some real talls, they would be top 4 and very hard to beat

Looked like a good round of fixtures in round 1 with only one real blowouts. Few tipsters got some wrong and some right so hopefully we are in for a competitive year. Curtin are ceartainly the yardstick and collegians and maddington surprised most tipsters. I did watch Balla Vs West Coast and I agree with some the coasters play good quick football.
Balla were never to far away and had there chances but West Coast held tight and there experience told in the dying minutes. The reserves was played fast and WC got of to a lightening start but Balla steadied and were good enough to hold of in the end
The colts was the game I wanted to see Balla has had a fair bit of success over the last 6 or 7 years but with at least 4 of the boys playing league this year I was intrigued to see how they would go. Again WC got of to a flyer and were 30 points in front at quarter time. The young balla side didn’t flinch and kept to there game plan and although lost by 50 odd points they wearnt terrible . WC were very good and moved the ball with great skill and at a fast pace so we will now see what the next few weeks bring to understand how teams structure against One another.
Balla certainly could do with someone over 5ft but with the head coach being 4’ 11” they may need someone else to do the recruiting.

Good luck to all teams for round 2 and let’s hope for some good banter.
