Fair enough Jords but I still think Friday nights is the better option but that’s just my opinion. Would rather them not competing against the colts time slot. I hope you’re right though that it was the preferred time slot chosen by the girls themselves. As long as they stay involved and it continues to grow that’s the main thing. A few of our girls were flabbergasted by the new time slots but it is what it is.

Friday night games for the women’s comp would be great. I have herd that some clubs have actually applied to the PFL to make this happen as well as to move some Saturday morning games to Saturday night games pending on the the grounds lighting is good enough.

Gosnells is happy to play games on a Saturday afternoon or evenings, but all our fixtures are Saturday mornings (bar one that has been changed to 12.30 to accommodate that Club's needs).

19 of our 35 registered players are aged over 25 and 70% of them are mothers. The children's ages range from 12 months (and she has 4) to 23 (she also has 4, the youngest being age 6).

Thus, Saturday morning, with junior sport and players working, is a huge issue.

Yes, players did vote for Saturday games rather than Sunday. I suspect that had they known they were voting for 9am games, quite a few would not have voted that way.

Had Clubs themselves known, I suspect many of them would not have voted that way either, as having spoken to only 8 other Clubs, 4 have issues with fixtures due oval availability on Saturday mornings because of junior sport.

For this year, we're stuck with it other than what we can negotiate between the Clubs concerned.

I hope more thought will go into 2020, particularly given that the 23 Clubs (and 25 teams) participating in 2019 is likely to grow further and that sooner or later, Colts and Reserves competitions will be included also.

In the meantime, Gosnells Oval is available after League or Thirds games on Saturday evenings. Our Thirds have 'stand alone' fixtures on Saturday afternoons, so we could host double headers.

In addition, we can access full size junior ovals (with full facilities but no bar) on Saturday and Sunday afternoons if required.

Unfortunately, we cannot host Friday night games as our ground is in use for girts Year 7/8 and 9/11 games. We are happy to play 'away' games on Friday nights should Clubs propose such a change to fixtures.
