Well the big dance is finally upon us with only a chance of a shower forecast for Saturday.

Well done to Ballajura getting all four teams across the line and into a GF with 3 playing the penultimate game at Steel Blue this Saturday. This bodes well for their venture into B grade next year.

Willetton easily accounted for a battered Bassendean last week and deservedly progress to the GF to meet the all conquering Ballajura. As previously stated in week 3 this game will be all about the pace of Balla through the middle versus the tall marking power of Willo in their forward line. If Balla can kick straight they will win the game in front of their big crowd of blue and black.
Previous games this season between these two saw Balla win by 3 points in round 4 and by 28 points in round 13.

In the reserves we see Ballajura take on Quinns District for the fourth time this season.
In round 5 Quinns were victorious by 19 points, in round 14 we saw Balla win by 23 points and in the second semi Quinns edged them out by 7 points.
My tip is Ballajura just in a close fought game.

Ian Dargie Colts sees an unusual match up between lower placed teams Bullcreek Leeming (finished third) and Ballajura who have fought their way through from fifth position. As we know colts footy can be quite volatile with results not always going to form. In this case in round 1 Balla beat Bullcreek by 36 points with Bullcreek reversing that result in round 10 winning by 26 points. However since that time Balla have found a rich vein of form and I will be riding the bandwagon all the way to the flag as they are playing great football at the minute.

Well just last year the top 5 sides from A grade down to C3 all won through to the GF and all 5 lost so anything can happen on the day as we know

Great Effort by Ballajura having all 4 sides in the GF.

They have had a strong colts side for many years now which is paying off with the clubs rise in the grades over the last few years.

As sneaky pointed out come grand final day there is always a few upsets with the top sides getting knocked off.

Well it has come to the end with Grand finals being played this weekend and what a year it has been. Melville who were saved from relegation last year pushed there way into finals this year. Both Gosnells and Bassendean have had a successful year in C1 both having a serious crack at finals but the big day has come and Ballajura and Willetton have come to play.
Like many have said on this thread anyone can win in finals and Ballajura learnt that last year having 4 teams in they were confidant and not a single team made to the last game in September. This year is different and they have all 4 sides in Good luck to them all along with all other teams playing. With a bit of luck Steel Blue should be in great nick and some good games should be played.
onto the tips
League - Ballajura Vs Willetton
Should be a cracker Willetton played there brand against Bassendean last week and proved it works with a great win. Ballajura had the week of and lead the head to head 2 nil this year but this is a new day and a different game and I expect Willetton will have a plan. Ballajura got a couple of players back from injury last game and looked really good against basso in the second semi. - Can they maintain it . I think so plus the hurt from last year should get them over the line..

Reserves - Quinns rocks Vs Ballajura
Quinns are a team who always seem to produce a good reserves side and this year is no different they have gone about there job quietly and easily handled Ballajura in the second semi. Balla on the other hand looked ordinary in that game but bounced back last week playing some great footy against Gosnells. if they can produce that brand of footy this week they will take it right up to the bulls. It wont be easy and might get messy at times but I rate Ballajura and think they can produce.

Colts - Bullcreek Leeming Vs Ballajura
These two sides have come from third and fifth respectively to make the grandy. I have not seen a lot of these teams but Bullcreek were outstanding in the second semi against Bassendean after knocking of Melville the week before. Ballajura apparently had the lead all day against Melville before giving it up late in the game, and clawing it back right at the end. They then played some fantastic footy last week to really upset the Bassendean colts last week. so both sides go into this game with some great winning form and I would think they will leave it all out on the oval to they will play there heats out in what could be a great prelude to the day. A real hard one to tip I'm going Ballajura to start the fairytale.

Good luck to all teams playing this weekend and win lose or draw it been a fantastic year.

Got 3 out of 4 correct with only Ballajura ressies going down by only 2 points in a great game that could have gone either way. Well done to Balla winning 3 out of 4 grandies and will do very well in B grade next year. They were the standout team in C1 all year and thoroughly deserved their win today.

Great effort by Ballajura in securing 3 from 4 flags!
Interesting to see they played a guy in their GF team that played all three grades this year (thirds, ressies and league) and was a previous player coach of another club in the same grade and previous paid player at country level.
Smart move by the club getting him qualified by submitting his name on a team sheet when Brentwoods thirds forfeited to ensure he had played his 5 games for the club and therefore qualify for finals.

They also play a guy who hadn’t played since 16th of June and recall him for the GF.
Bold move by the coach which paid off in both these cases. Great stuff!

Great list management I would say. Club admin is another important component of a strong club.
