Not trying to save face. Just wanted to clarify we weren't trying to cheat by playing a player under a fake name.

We picked a side that to our knowledge was eligible to play, we got it wrong.

Hellcat how did you (Belmont) get it so wrong, how many games had he played for the club.
Was it a case of playing a couple of games in each grade but not playing enough to actually qualify for either grade.

They weren't the first Club to get it wrong and they won't be the last. Fee for those concerned.

As long as played 5 games for the club and one of those was league he’s eligible.

Heard a whisper it was 2 blokes who didn’t qualify. Both played 5 games for the club but not 5 games in that grade

if league are there highest grade which it is... then as long as they have played 5 qualifying games for the club and say only 1 is a league game and 4 reserves. they can play finals at the highest grade of the club....
that is what my reading on the rules where that were sent out in frequently asked questions on email before finals...
am I wrong though maybe I could be....

I know that in the E1 elimination that saw Forrestdale beat Kingsway, that if you look on waafl site on the list some of those players only played colts and 1 or 2 league games but played on the weekend??

same as the DM and nollamarra one of DM players played reserves all year and had 1st league game in the elimination against Nollamarra which saw nolla be out first round of finals... so surely the rule would apply that as long as you have played 5 qualifying games for the club you can play the highest grade for finals or it would see forrestdale and DM out aswell…

Highest Grade means exactly that - not highest team.

For example, a Club plays in B Grade (with a Colts team too), D Grade (with a Colts team too) and in E Grade.

A colts player who has played at least 5 colts games can play Finals in the Club's highest Grade - that being B Grade, whether in League or Reserves. They cannot play D Grade League or Reserves unless they have also played at least 5 Reserves or 5 League games.

Grade: C3
Coolbinia 22.6-138 defeated Secret Harbour 10.8-68
Kwinana 12.14-86 defeated Mosman Park 6.3-39

Grade: C3 Reserves
Brentwood Booragoon 8.4-52 lost to Coolbinia 9.4-58
Ellenbrook 11.6-72 defeated Kwinana 8.4-52

The only upset would be Brentwood in the ressies who finished top but have now lost their last 2 games.
CWP into C2 & the GF with a massive win and the ressies in the big dance as well.
