Got to love the smell of finals in the air and lets hope the weather is again bright and sunny come next Saturday.

Well done to the Ballajura Royals finishing top of the table in both league and ressies and second in E3. Hopefully they will not self destruct as what happened in last years finals fade out and have learnt a thing or two in between.

Basso smashed in inept Rams outfit at home today to bundle them out of the five and let Carlisle sneak back in. Can the Basso boys repeat last years finals efforts is my question? and on current form it is entirely possible.

Basso should account for Willetton in the qualifying final next week in what should be a great game.

On recent form I predict Gosnells will be knocked out (literally) by Carlisle in the elimination final as long as they bring their A game.

Some nice predictions Major and good to get some finals banter on the page. I have had a look at all games in C1 this weekend as I think all teams playing finals deserve a writeup. Hopefully we can get some engagement from the reserves and colts teams playing this week

Qualifying final
(L) Willetton Vs Bassendean
Should be a cracker of a game. Willetton are the inform team but Bassendean haven’t done a lot wrong in recent weeks beating Ballajura at their home. Basso have also showed that they can produce in finals and will put all on the line. I am going to go Willetton in a real close one.

(R) Gosnells vs Quinns
Both sides have been in good form winning by big margins both having their last loss to Ballajura 3 and 4 weeks ago. Im going Quinns as they look to have a strong reserves with no league team playing finals whilst Gosnells have 3 senior teams playing finals this weekend

(C) Melville Vs Bullcreek
Not sure what games the Big dog has been watching but Melville are the best team in the colts competition and have been for a few years. His Ballajura boys have been playing some good footy but to say he doesn’t rate the little Rams is bit rough. I doubt he is even from Ballajura as they learnt fist hand last year. Bullcreek have been good but the Rams will win this one

Elimination Final
(L) Gosnells Vs Carlisle
Another cracker of a final with both teams having some good and bad results recently. Carlisle have struggled to win away from home but did beat Gosnells on their turf and have beaten them both times albeit by under aa goal. They will still fancy themselves this week. Not tipping this one probably a draw.

(R) Willetton Vs Bassendean
Both these teams will want to get this game over with and get back to Willetton to watch their respective league sides play. Willetton have won their last 5 easy but have not had a lot of competition whereas Bassendean have had some tough games but a mixed finish. Im tipping Basso here I think there primed and ready

(C) CanningVale Vs Ballajura
These two sides played last week so a replay should be worth it Canning Vale have been good all year and with their league and reserves finished may have some support away for the first time this year Ballajura have a couple of teams already through to the second week, so they should show up in numbers to support their colts who are going into their 8th finals series in a row. Congratulations to them. Of what I seen a few weeks ago I think Ballajura can win this and progress into the next round.

Good Luck to all teams playing finals this weekend and let’s hope for some sunshine and great weather.

Hey Lozza, if it's a draw, will it be a golden goal or penalty shoot out??:woohoo:

Is there a betting market for the Ian Dargie Colts. I want to load up on Ballajura. Think they're the most inform team heading into the finals series

Yep agreed. I’ll take balla v Melville in the colts. With Balla v Willo in the league. Balla to win both. In the league Willo will come close but won’t quite match them on the big day, but you never know in a gf. Basso will fizzle out in all grades, not enough fight in em to keep up with others. But done ok coming up. Gossies or Carlisle shouldn’t get close to willeton or ballajura either. Colts should have some cracking games this finals series

Interesting to see the two sides from the C2 Gf in 2017 are into the 2nd week of C1 finals this year and both still have their ressies in the hunt. Great effort to both clubs
Basso upsetting Willeton giving them their first loss for 8weeks.
Gossie getting biscuits over Carlisle in a tight one and we’re probably favourites going into the game as they play a good brand of footy at their home ground.
Any reports from either game?

Ressies games looked to be crackers as well! Good healthy sign of the WAAFL finals structure! Nothing worse than seeing a blow out in afinals game.
