We have now reach the seventh of eighteen rounds of football believe it or not! This round determines so much at this early stage of the season. Will we see a new ladder leader?, Will we see a new team in the relegation battle? Lets start this up.

Trinity Aquinas vs Curtin Uni Wesley @Billy Grayden
This game is huge for either side here, TA's want to keep in the five whilst Curtin would love to go a game clearer of the relegation zone. Trinity Aquinas had a good win last week against a wembley side who are really struggling, but with Ryan Murphy back to his best with six last week they will feel confident going into this week. Curtin had yet another tough week at the office with another heavy defeat against CBC, they need to find the scoreboard to win this game and again i cant see it happening.
Trinity Aquinas by 4 Goals

North Beach vs Wanneroo @Chas Riley
On any other week this game would be the match of the round, but its going to have to settle for second best. Wanneroo kept on keeping on last week with a big win over Kalamunda at home and just keep affirming each week that they are the real deal. North Beach got back on the winners list against Uni and were never really troubled on their way to a nine goal win. This could go either way but i like the home side.
North Beach by 3 Goals

Kingsway vs University @Kingsway
Another really interesting game here, Kingsway and University will both see this one as a winnable encounter. Kingsway had their recent run of form stopped by a powerful Scarborough outfit but will return home believing that this is a big chance for a win. University have been very up and down in recent weeks after beating TA's they have lacked that consitiency and will be looking to pick up a good scalp away from home.
Kingsway by 2 Goals

Fremantle CBC vs Scarborough @Morris Buzzacott MOTR
Well here it is, the match of the season so far between two unbeaten sides. Fremantle CBC kept on keeping on easily dismantling Curtin last week and their midfield is seriously firing at the moment. Scarborough have been untouchable in the first six rounds and have won every game by over 5 goals, and with their wealth of WAFL experience they are a hard train to stop. This will be a thriller.
Scarborough by 1 Goal

Kalamunda vs Wembley @Ray Owen
This game also has an argument to be match of the round with both sides looking to exit the relegation zone and put pressure on Curtin and Kingsway. Kalamunda were okay in patches last week against Wanneroo and back at Ray Owen will know that if they can get somewhere near their best they will be a big chance. Wembley had one of their best showings in a few weeks against TA's where they pushed them all day and will fancy themselves to win at last.
Kalamunda by 2 Goals

Enjoy this blockbuster round.
Boothead out ;)

Great write up Boothead.
I cannot remember a side winning six straight to start a season by margins in excess of 6 goals in each game. I don't think CBC are as good as their position on the ladder suggests. CBC won two of the six by only 2 points and are yet to play Scarboro, Uni & Wanneroo three of the top 5 sides. For me Scabs by 6 goals!

I think you are short changing them a tad here, they have beaten TA's and North Beach away from home which is quite the feat.

Great write up Boothead,

It must be a huge round as you have posted on the Wednesday night instead of Thursday, you must be like me and cannot wait for this round. There should be some tightly fought contests, in a round that will give us a real feel for the rest of the season.

Trinity Aquinas v Curtin Uni
Trinity will be very confident of getting the win here on their home deck, they are a strong team but at home they are almost unbeatable. Curtin will be competitive but Trinity will run away with it in the second half.
Trinity by 8 goals.

North Beach v Wanneroo
As you said very unlucky not to be the MOTR. A huge test for Wanneroo taking on a quality side like North Beach at home, they need this win to be considered a serious threat. While they have played some good football they will need to be much better to get close to North Beach. North Beach will be full of confidence following a big win and will want to continue on that run.
This will be tight all day with less than a kick in it.
North Beach 4 points.

Kingsway v University
Kingsway should take some heart out of their loss last week, they will not be the last team that will be taught a lesson by Scarborough. This will be a good game, with both teams capable of playing good football.
University 2 goals.

Fremantle C.B.C v Scarborough
Wow here it is, the battle of the undefeated teams. I would love to be down watching this game, it will be highly skilled and tightly fought. It is toss of the coin but the home ground advantage gets Fremantle C.B.C over the line, just.
Fremantle C.B.C 1 goal.

Kalamunda v Wembley
Two sides who are desperate for a win. Wembley should take great confidence in pushing Trinity last week and will get the win here.
Wembley by 4 goals.

Good luck to all teams. Hopefully the round is a tight as we think.

I look forward to seeing the results and write ups come Monday

P.S - Hawk Eye You grossly underestimate how hard it is to win 6 games in a row. Fremantle C.B.C have shown they know how to win in any circumstance and they are the real deal.

Who can believe it is Round 7 already...well for MrM can as not much slips by under his nose. We have some very important games of football this weekend, but let’s not rush into it, let us take some time to dissect how the week has been shaping up.
Firstly as we all know MrM loves nothing more than sinking his teeth into some of Western Australia’s finest potatoes, washed, cut and then deep fried to pure perfection, but MrM has another love in his life and that is reading the tabloids and the excitement this week has been frock watch.
MrM is eagerly awaiting the royal wedding and cannot wait to see them both walk down the aisle on Saturday evening Perth time. Whilst MrM is quietly bemused he didn’t receive an invite it is ok and he can watch afar, but we shall all await the brides big arrival. Not since MrM first announced and bought along a lovely lady to an awards night has there ever been such talk on how a lady may look on a special day. So stay tuned all, it is sure to be the highlight of the weekend.
ON another note, MrM said he would be reinvesting his $$ into his loyal followers and supporters, we may have some exciting news very soon, so stay tuned, join in the discussion and get ready to enjoy the riches MrM has to offer.

Boothead you are fast becoming a much better, refined version of MrM, although MrM will pull you up here. MrM will refute Kalamunda were good in patches, unless you are referring to patches of grass as they quite good at standing on them. Unless you were in attendance...then MrM is shattered a simple hello wasn’t given.
Alright, after we took a step sideways to talk about important topics, we should get into football.

Trinity Aquinas v Curtin University Wesley @Bill Grayden Reserve

The TA’s boys will be looking for a win here as they can jump over the loser of another game with a strong win here. They showed last season they were good enough to make finals and finish it all off with a 50/50 record, but they will want to improve on that as the season goes and are starting to hit their straps. Curtin Uni has been relatively disappointing thus far, but will need to start making amends to that soon to make something of their season, unfortunately for them it will not be this week as TA’s will be victors.
Trinity Aquinas by 8 goals

North Beach v Wanneroo @Charles Riley Reserve

The boys from the beach would be very happy with their win last weekend and will be looking to keep that going when they face a Wanneroo side that is looking to put their stamp on the competition. Wanneroo have surprised many with a few good wins so far, but a good test will be how they perform against A Grade power in North Beach. I can see this being a very good game as for the winner, well hard to tip against either side having 10 goals wins but I will.
Wanneroo by 1 goal

Kingsway v University @Kingsway Reserve

It has been a good test for Kingsway so far this without putting too many good results on the board. This week will be another test for the teal brigade when they face a University team that will be smarting after last week’s effort. Uni would be disappointed with how they went last week, with a few players out who may come back this weekend, MrM expects a better showing. It should be a good game but 1,2,3 Uni boys are we, will ring out Saturday.
University by 4 goals

Fremantle CBC v Scarborough @Morris Buzzacott Reserve MOTR

Well, two undefeated sides shaping up against each other in the battle of the green and gold, it is this week’s Match Of The Round.
Some out there may say Fremantle CBC are lucky to have remained unbeaten so far, but MrM is different, he can see them being quite good and definitely there when the season finishes. Scarborough, well we all know how good they are and they will want to make a statement here showing they are in fact the side to beat. One wishes he could be in attendance here, but MrM thinks it will be a gooden, the home side will get a win here.
Fremantle CBC by 2 goals

Kalamunda v Wembley @Ray Owen Reserve

Kalamunda were good in patches last weekend(allegedly) but at home they will want to be alot better than they were last weekend. If they can get the ball forward more often than not, I can see big C.Symonds being more than a handful. Wembley will just need to ensure they can get their forward line maximum supply as well if they are any chance to win here. Will be a very important game for both clubs, but MrM will go with an upset here.
Wembley by 2 goals

Interesting to also note, is this the first time every game has been played at a Reserve, not an oval?
All locations are Reserves and it is good to see.
May the best team win this weekend...

Saw quite possibly the worst quarter of football that our league side has ever produced yesterday. 9 goals to 1 & just non existent.

Now one & six, plenty of work to do to stay in A Grade next year.

Good summation there Boothead, you seem like you’d be an absolute ball at parties.
Plenty of time to jump across to the real Roos if you please...

MrM travelled down to Royal Charles Riley on the weekend and witnessed 3 very different games of football.
Colts was quite a good contest, but overall North Beach managed to be better for longer and got the win.
Reserves well Wanneroo never really looked like winning, North Beach seemed to do as they pleased and got the win.
MrM travelled to the canteen, and MrM was impressed with a variety of different options available for all. For those who know MrM you will know that of course he went with the hot chips. The age old debate reigned here though, should the chips be pre salted? Or do people like salting them themselves?
It is definitely a head scratcher. Here at North Beach you had to salt your own chips, they were not too bad, a little soggy, try keeping them frozen, cook for a bit, then when ordered fry again, adds to the crisp. 7/10

The League game was a good contest...for the first bounce. North Beach were very good, Wanneroo were not.
First things first. #19 from North Beach loved a goal, and loved a noise that was reminiscent of a pig squeal after every said goal (9 times MrM heard this squeal), excitement was running high in the last when he lined up for his 10th 3 times only to fall short each time. For North Beach, they maintain touch with the top 2. For Wanneroo it is back to the drawing board.

Looking forward to next week already

It is with great sorrow that i am announcing that i will no longer be on the A Grade forum for the rest of 2018, as I have just taken up a new job opportunity in Darwin and my insight will frankly be a waste of time. Would finally like to say that the real roos are from Kingsway MrM and they will come out victorious this week, catch up for quiet one in hopefully the near future big fella.

Its bye for now folks.

Thanks for your contribution Boothead. It was much appreciated in an era when most people including myself dont't take the time to put a bit back into Grass Roots footy discussions. Hopefully MRM can carry the A Grade segment by himself. Good luck in Darwin and have a pint or two for me at Monsoons!
