If the warnbro player came at him first, which everyone who plays them will know that's true, then he probably deserved at least to get pushed over. Let's be real. The free kick would've been undeserved. But most umps who see their own team go to ground, even deservingly, will pay a free to their team. It's just what happens

The umpires said that the freekick was for the head high contact that occured which put him down, so if that was the case, then it deserved a free kick and a send off. I doubt you are going to get a free kick if a player pushes you over if you instigate it.

Of course the warnbro ump said that. He's not gonna say he paid it just coz he saw a warnbro player fall down, he's gonna make up some excuse. There's no point you saying he's a fair and just umpire, coz anybody who's had him on their game knows he favours his own.

Thats a big call Banga.... do you know what umpiring credentials he has and where he has been umpiring prior to be coming a clubbie? maybe the umpire is just paying the free kicks as they should be paid and you dont like it. No one seems to complain about the free kicks he pays to the opposition in the warnbro back line.
the hardest thing about umpiring im told is paying the kicks regardless of where they occur.

Banga
Come on - I am new to the Amateurs this year and I must say that I am appalled at the treatment of umpires in C2 or below.
In other leagues some of the things I have seen this year would have seen players, coaches, water carriers and runners suspended for a long time.
I am actually in the process of writing a letter to the league and asking for action to be taken.
No I am not a player, umpire - just a spectator watching friends playing in different grades.

Finally Banga - grab a whistle, and orange shirt and some runners and take up umpiring as you seem to think its an easy gig.

maybe it's bcoz you're new to amateurs, but the treatement of umps in grades I've watched has been ok. Yeah they might get abused for a call or something, but so what, opposition players get more abuse than umps. Why don't you write a letter for them? Talking of how appalled you are and blah blah blah. Most umps I've watched make a couple crappy calls, but turning a game is a different matter. Not saying that's what warnbro ump does, he's just a crap ump that favours. Seeing as you're new to amateurs though, before you write a letter for the mistreatement of umps go and have a watch of a mossie park game, or even a high Wycombe game, and tell me those umps don't deserve to cop it. I'll never say umpiring is an easy gig, but some umps are blatant cheats that deserve no respect from anyone

BANGA
I have seen an umpire spat on, threatened to be punched to the point the umpire had to weave, I have seen a spectator follow an umpire off the field and threatened to the point they had to lock themselves in the change room, I have seen an umpire threatened when leaving a game. And thats in ten weeks

So this behaviour is ok in your opinion? Come on you are kidding yourself.
Why dont you umpire? Then we can give you a little feedback. Happy to come and watch you umpire

Calling people cheats is a slur on them individually and its uncalled for

By the way which club do you follow just to give this argument some perspective

The Warnbro umpire is an ex panel A grade umpire with 100s of games and many grand finals to his credit.
All the feild umpires at that game were ex panel umpires and in cases like that they umpire to a high standard.

turning a game....what a load of crap....... The problem in club umpiring land is whenever an umpire who umpires on behalf of a club pays a freekick to them, its deemed as cheating or biased. What you are suggesting banga is that club umpires are not allowed to pay freekicks to the team they umpire for!!
What reallt happenes is some umpires wont pay the kicks they should be paying, then you get some ex panel umpires who come along and pay the kicks as they see it and as they should be paid and all of sudden they are biased and cheats.
Have a look at the C2 ladder, Gosnells, Lynwood Ferndale and Warnbro are in the top 3, there is a fair chance they are getting more freekicks cause they have the football and the other clubs are trying to get the footy off them. Its not rocket science!!
Pull your head in and get down to Richardson park on Tuesday or Thursday and join in some umpiring sessions, then try and umpire a game for the club you supposedly play for.

Silent, what teams are you watching this season that you've seen an ump spat on, or followed up to the change rooms and locked himself in? I've not seen that ever happen to an ump. Abused, yeah I've seen that, but never much more. I follow no club in your grade, t any club really. Mostly c4 or a grade games. But I did happen to catch a mate play down at warnbro this year, and I've seen their ump in a past season. Don't think I'll change my opinion any time soon.
And nah chappie I don't think I'll join ya at Richardson park. Cheers though
