While I like to call myself old fashioned with footy in general I think clubs should be promoting their crowds to keep the banter as clean as possible. Comments about someone's teeth is almost out of place these days. Some blokes have a lot going on in their lives and things can turn nasty at the footy. I know to some that sounds soft but it's all have some banter and be light and nice.

Although Disco I am with you completely some club umpires have been bending the rules for years. Lucky Ballajura went up a grade, their club umpire was creative at best. The high Wycombe umpire also renowned for making itip as he goes along even against his own team.

At the end of the day all we ask is for common sense. If a player swears after making a mistake or not at the umpire we don't need frees, and when there's a bit of push and shove umpires shouldn't be pulling out cards willy nilly.

I think the person omitted some important information.

They werent just spectators, they were ressies/and or colts players all dressed in club uniform and crossing the line by making the abuse very personal against the opposition players.

It wasnt just banter it was personal and shouldnt be on or near a football field. They were told by the umpire to not make it personal again. If you are a club official or player, dont abuse the players by making it personal and crossing the line. Very simple. Have a go about anything else by all means.

The warning worked because whilst the banter continued, there was no my personal abuse at the players. Thats all that was asked for.

it wasnt a spectator, it was a club official/player in club uniform. So yes you can!! offensive and insulting language has no part in the game.

Well said Chappie, I agree banter with the opposition is fine, but when it becomes personal or just downright abuse its out of line and should not be tolerated

Hi Chappie,

It clearly states more than once it was the reserves grade if you read it?

Also states what was said to the players.

I was sitting right next to it so pretty sure I heard it all.

It also states head band, teeth and not getting a kick in the post.

Ok teeth might be harsh but headband and not getting a kick is pretty tame.

They Reserves probably went harder on their own team than the other.

I think it was a little over the top from the ump which is the main point.
