I'll do a pre and post round write up each week. Didn't want to step on any toes as we've just been promoted but here goes.

Some interesting results with a couple of big bow outs. Always tough to predict early in the season but a couple of sides in Gosnells and Bassendean have thrown their weight around early! Solid wins to Valley, Lynwood Ferndale and Warnbro completed round 1.

Early signs of who will show dominance or perhaps the weaker sides being revealed?

Just wondering if anyone knows why the colts comp (LKC?) isn't listed with fixtures/results of every other division.

Possibly because they've had to redo the fixtures? High Wycombe beat Swan Valley by about 8 goals

Perhaps teams uncertain so not 100% on fixtures

Lynwood pulled their colts out on Thursday so yes they have to redo the fixtures

New Colts fixtures will be out some time next week. Given that there is a general bye next weekend, there is no particular hurry to get them out.

Results wise, Gosnells Colts went down to Belmont by 2 points in a close one.

Good to see footy back and some interesting results.

I went down for a gander at Lynwood V Canning Vale which was a tough hard fought contest.

The Lynwood side had first use of a good breeze and got off to a flyer with CV creeping back into the game the further it went on.

MY quick whinge about the umps after some interesting decisions from the LF ump to say the least.

One call in the Lynwood forward line when LF player received a free kick played on and missed.
Ump recalled to free kick 15 metres out.
He said no advantage?
After some CV chatter 50m penalty?

The worst decision of the day involved the rushed behind. He called it as CV were a goal down at their goals against LF player then said its a ball up?

Is this correct as I was under the impression its a free kick? Correct me if I am wrong but this may have changed the game with CV gaining confidence.

These opinions are my own let me make this clear.

All I can say is if this continues it will cause grief.

I understand we need umps but they need to know & play by the rules.

Anyway Lynwood got the chocolates in a good game off footy so well done.

Anyone see the gosnells v canning game or the bassendean v nolla game are these teams that won that good or are the losing teams that bad a few people have tipped canning for a big year and normally the c3 premiers coming up are at least competitive also looks like swan valley have handled the rise in grade well

Was also at the game as an onlooker and was confused by that rule also. After the game it was mentioned that for the amateur rules it is now a ball up at top of the square. Assume that is correct until someone tells me otherwise. It was a very stiff call for deliberate anyway with the CV player 2-3m away from him on his tail.
Did also see the push in the back and resulting 50m, from what I saw it was a push after the kick was made and resulting point and therefore the kick was borught back to a free kick. The 50m penalty was for abuse apparently.
