Not much has been spoken about in the C1 world....
Any news amongst any of the clubs in terms of player movement, coaches etc??
Who are peoples tips for the 5, For promotion to B grade and for relegation.

Have heard Quinns have lost a few boys. Be interesting to see how Melville go with their new coach.
I think Willetton and Carlisle might be the teams to beat this year.
Expecting improvement from Kenwick as well.
Unfortunately I expect Thornlie and Ballajura to head straight back down to C2.

I think after watching Thornlie and Ballajura last year they will both be very capable clubs in C1.
The thing they both have is good strong depth.

If they have kept their lists together I think Thornlie may even push the top 5?

I think Melville may be a hard side to beat knowing how tough B grade is.

Quinns I dont know as apparently they have lost players and coaches but you never know until you see sides run out.

I would expect this will be a tough grade in 2017.
Knight Footy is the winner!

Thornlie have lost less than 3 games in 3 seasons in C2 have similar results in reserves, are coached well and have recruited well. There's no chance they will go straight down. Ballajura have risen through the grades on the back of large numbers and colts flags. I would tip both to consolidate and challenge for finals. I've been interstate for work a lot over the past few years but Melville's new coach had an big impact improving CSP - expect Melville to go well under him from what I've heard, very professional. But would be interested to know how they are looking?

Willeton and Bullcreek always have a go over the years. Should be an even grade and one to watch.

Ballajura will not be going straight back down by any means. They have great depth and have recruited well in the off season. Watch this space!

Not a single mention of the team that has lost the last 2 prelims (including being 4 goals up halfway through the last qtr last year), who has not lost a single player from their league side while picking up a few handy recruits and a 200-game AFL player as coach.
Interesting...

is Grover playing or just coaching? he isn't in the transfers yet. some of the clubs have some big numbers in & out already though hard to say how many are juniors stepping up. I also haven't included the WAFL transfers as those players are on both sides.

Melville 22 in 14 out
Quinns 14 in 14 out
Kingsley 4 in 1 out
Willetton 8 in 1 out
Carlisle 0 in 4 out
Noranda 11 in 8 out
Kenwick 4 in 2 out
BCL 27 in 3 out
Thornlie 16 in 1 out
Ballajura 4 in 5 out

Shaping up to look a real solid competition, my guess for the season

Melville, Quinns and Kingsley to take the top 3
Willeton, Carlisle and Thornlie to be somewhere in the middle
Noranda, Kenwick, Bullcreek-Leeming and Ballajura to sort out the bottom list

Not 100% sure about Grover playing, but I think he might be wanting to totally focus on coaching. In saying that, hopefully he puts a clearance in just in case he's required, as he'd go ok in C grade.
