COCKBURN vs EELENBROOK - Last week the Warriors were putrid and had their worst loss for the year while the Eels again failed to match it with one of the top teams in the comp and showing they'll be nothing more than nuisance value come finals time. And then Swan View were given the points against Piara and the week went from bad to worse as they dropped to 4th. Not to worry though,they'll be playing against witches hats here and that's when they do their best work!
Eels by 10+ goals

DIANELLA vs MANNING - Dianella again get the luxury of fine tuning their game plan against moderate opposition before a tough game next week and then an assault on the finals. Manning were good last week against Snesa. They will provide some resistance and would love to spoil the party but it won't be happening.
Dianella by 6 goals

PIARA WATERS vs BALLAJURA - GOTR - 1v2 and the winner should lock away top spot barring any hiccups in round 18. I've sai Balla have been the best team in the comp all year and now they've got top spot they won't be giving it up! This game would've been on the radar for a few weeks and now it's time to deliver! Piara would be stinging after dropping to 2nd on the back of an admin mistake and a loss here and they could be 3rd. Should be a great game and a great contest but I think Balla will get it done.
Balla by 4 goals.

SNESA vs SWAN VIEW - Snesa are Gawn! And they played like it last week only just getting over Manning. They've been disappointing this year and im sure all involved expected a better standing. The View had a big win and then got gifted and extra 4 points which now gives them a chance at 2nd spot if they can win their last 2 games. Last time these 2 met it was a close encounter and I'm expecting the same again. It won't surprise me to see Snesa get up but I'll tip the View in a close one.
The View by under 2 goals.

SECRET HARBOUR vs SWAN VALLEY - Only 2 more weeks for Secrets to get through before they can go about rebuilding the club. Looks to be a huge challenge as the League team they roll out each week would struggle to compete in E grade. The Valley will have been looking foward to making a big day of it for a while and it won't disappoint.

Great write up as always Maddog.....Looks like a great weekend of footy coming up, with the weather to possible going to effect some of the grounds.

Cockburn v Ellenbrook - Cockburn have hit the wall, and have two weeks left in C3 before they get the chance to regroup and rebuild their club, Ellenbrook were good last week, and lead for most of the day. They have some big bodies midfielders, and they like to throw their size around to win the contested ball. I think the biggest challenge here for the eels will be to get to Cockburn and back again without getting wet. Ellenbrook have to keep winning as they have been one of the losers out of the Piara issue, slipping to 4th on the ladder. I think they will win this one easily

Dianella v Manning - DM are rolling along nicely, doing what was expected against Secret Harbour, this one however will be slightly more challenging. Manning have been competitive without causing to many upsets, but they have proven they are no easy beats. I expect DM to win here and continue to prepare for finals, however I say this one word of caution, Underestimate Manning here and it could be a tough day. DM by about 15 points

Piara v Ballajura - GOTR. As has been stated its first v second with not much separating the teams in the round 8 encounter. Ballajura are a fast side and they tend to hit the scoreboard regularly. They are clearly the highest scoring team in the comp, and have firepower all over the oval. Piara just continue to surprise, and continue to keep getting to the front when the game needs to be won. I expect this one to be very close, to the winner goes the spoils of the chance to nail top spot and week 1 of the finals off, to the loser your right in the mix but you will likely be playing first week of finals not resting. Ill continue to back my boys and say Piara by 4 points - the same margin as last time. The pressure will be on the scoreboard attendant on Saturday that's for sure......

SNESA v Swan View - SNESA are struggling, yes they possibly should have had a better run than they have, however injuries to their key players has hurt them at times this year, their best is very good, but they lack consistency. Swan View have been the BIG winners this week, getting 4 points in a game they lost, which now gives them a real chance at finishing 2nd and gaining a home final. Swan View have the best defence of the comp only allowing on average 50 points a game to be scored against them. I think Swan View will win this one, but if they don't respect their opposition then SNESA could still have an impact on the top 5 without playing finals. SV by 9 points in a low scoring slog.

Swan Valley to enjoy the bus trip down the freeway, and to win easily against Secret Harbour.
