What can the league do? Players legally transferred. Unless money changed hands it's not "illegal"

A mockery of the A grade comp? Break one rule you may as well break them all and we all know the likes of Embley and The Big Q arent playing for the love of it! They say all is fair in love and war...

same as last year, see how much is left in the warchest come june 30 and start poaching players from other leagues. some of the money offered last year to players was obscene.

A grade clubs should be worried, if Kelmscott League are good early in the season- wait till they start doing what they did last year.

Interesting changes to WAAFL By-Law # 9 today may have closed or made this loophole harder for Kelmscott to pursue in the future. Check with your presidents for all the details but I can confirm the following in summary

For the avoidance of doubt; if a player lodges a transfer with the WAAFL, plays in the WAAFL, then lodges a transfer out of the WAAFL all within a period of 15 business days he will be deemed an ineligible player for the WAAFL match he played and his WAAFL club will lose the match.

The by-law amendment is not applicable to players who play on a Type 2 Local Interchange Permit (LIP). Not sure if Kelmscott used this rule or not for the guys that played on the weekend from the country
A Type 2 (LIP) is not a transfer but a temporary registration permit to play in the WAAFL.

The people running the WAAFL are a joke - changing rules on the run. They say the prawn always rots from the head so the sooner we can get rid of the likes of Davies the better.

Kelmscott weren't the only club doing it last weekend.
I think if this rule is to stand it should only be if they are returning to the club they 1st requested transfer from.

But then again,if blokes are working in the bush as a teacher and are home over the holidays and want to play a couple of games for their local club then they should be able to!
