I was at the game and saw a good game of footy and enjoyed the banter under the grandstand. Basso were too good. We also had 2 yellow cards given at the same time so no disadvantage to either side. We were just to good for Carlisle. When we started to hit the front carlisle didnt know what to do and looked as if they panicked. Basso showed a lot of heart to beat the top team as far as the ladder goes. To finish the year as being the best side in c2 is great basso showed how they are a tight family. Not sure what happened at the half time break but something obviously worked

To the Victor go the spoils, well done Maggies on the Basso win. As for the Banter etc on the day. Well mate I am not sure if you reckon half a dozen of your supporters banging on the Carlisle Coaches Box and hanging over the fence carrying on like complete Muppets is considered Banter. But hey well done on your win and you must be so proud of your Club and the humble way they get behind your players. I reckon if you are an ex player like you say then you would be Bloody Proud. I am sure Carlisle will front up again next season in C1 have a real good go at the season and I am sure you blokes will go really well especially with all your home grown talent in the League Side and the Depth your Reserves and Colts will provide.

Big crowd at Bassendean Oval - Pity the Swan Districts canteen decided to cash in on it though, $4 for a can of coke - I wasn't game to ask how much the food was........

Thanks Observer, yes I did play at the club a few years ago though. The guys who were banging on your shelter I think were getting back at that annoying drummer you guys had. All in good fun I suppose. You will go very well next year if you keep your squads together. Not sure what the boys at bassendean are doing I think a couple are hanging up the boots.

Yeah PTG I didnt want to get stuck into Carlisle as they would be hurting from their losses from all grades. There hasnt been to much written up about the game so maybe they are a little embarressed about the effort that was given. On a sad note I hope the player that was injured during the game which looked like a bad injury is ok. LAG you have been talking all year and have written some good posts, have you retired? Were you at the game? Anything to say? The guy that beat you in the last game also did the same job on sat to the skinny guy who thinks he is michael walters.

Not sure why anyone would be embarrased at Carlisle Maggies, hurting from losing the Colts and League grand finals yes, but the efforts put in by all on the day was excellent and all involved at Carlisle are proud of the efforts not just on Saturday but across the season, the colts were in the game all day and just not quite good enough, the league blown away in 1 qtr that cost them the game, they won the other 3 qtrs score wise but Basso were exceptional in the third quarter (7 goals to nil)and it was enough to win them game and well done to them....

So 12 months appears to be a long time in Footy, just scrolled back to check on some stuff from last year and came across this. Interested to hear your thoughts Maggies.
