Went and watched Basso put on a real display on saturday. H had the boys fired up after quarter time and it was all Basso after that. Its been a long wait for many of us but I cant see anyone stopping the boys from Bassendean. Looking forward to watching next week and then a fortnight after that in the Grand Final.

Canning Vale vs Bassendean

I thought it was a good game. The Cougar toughness at the ball and great spread vs the side stepping and silkiness of the Bassendean side. In the end a poor 2nd term by the Cougars cost them the game. 6-goals to 2-goals in that term and the margin remained the same at the end of the game with three other tight quarters.
Bassendeans stars all had relatively good games. Yarran, Wedding, Papertalk and the Superstar himself all having impacts at times. I thought the fella with the pony tail and the little number 7 were also very good for the Swans.
With a few key injuries, I was VERY proud of our young side who stepped up to the finals pressure a week after being deplorable vs Coolbinia WP. All barring a lapse in concentration in the second term, I thought we matched it with the much fancied side.

By no means is this Premiership Race over.....

Leaving next week as:

Carlisle vs Bassendean for a spot in C1 and more importantly the Final Dance.

Canning Vale vs Thornlie to keep their chances alive.

Was a good hard game of footy on sat. There'll be some sore body's today.
Just to clear it up as a player at basso.
We are looking no further ahead than this weeks game vs Carlisle, another team who have beaten us on both occasions this year.

Are the rumours true? A Canningvale player was sent off (Red Card) on Saturday after pulling down his pants and mooning the crowd? Sent off for "An Obscene Gesture"
If so hilarious, but still you have to pull your head in.

Not sure about the mooning.... I was told the crowd were abusing him and at 3 quarter time when jogging to his huddle he gave the basso faithful the bird! Goal umpire saw it, complained & then field umpire red carded him.... If that's true it sux!

If that's the case then it truly sux, obviously a basso goal umpire then, and made even worse considering the waafl finals guidelines state all goal, boundary & central umpires will be supplied by the association, so no room for bias. Obviously not the case this week..

My understanding was it was a WAAFL appointed goal umpire. Rules are rules, doesn't matter what the obscene gesture is, just don't do it.

Then again this isnt the AFL... Maybe Basso should control their crowd a bit better. These blokes are playing for fun.. Not to be ridiculed by pretenders in the crowd thinking their Leigh Matthews of the game...
