Mosman Park 16.10 (106)
DEF
Thornlie 4.12 (36)

Bassendean 13.7 (85)
DEF
Snesa 6.7 (43)

Swan Valley 12.8 (80)
DEF
Coolbinia West Perth 9.9 (63)

Warnbro Swans 9.7 (61)
DEF BY
Carlisle 10.15 (75)

Noranda 8.8 (56)
DEF BY
Canning Vale 17.12 (114)

Some interesting results... Thornlie going down to Mossie Park (I did warn you Mossie were 0-4 last year and won their next 9). Bassendean too good for SNESA after their good win last week. The Valley getting a much needed win against fellow strugglers CWP. The Cougars defeating Noranda in a canter and the powerhouse Carlisle team made to work hard for a good win against Warnbro.

Noranda vs Canning Vale
Three quality games down at Lightning Park in blustery conditions. All three games played in good spirits.
The juniors canteen that ran prior to the Colts game the biggest disappointment of the day with poor quality pies and chips. Seniors canteen produced the goods with some good chips n gravy thereafter.
Loves-A-Goal coaxed into the League again spat the dummy when he was dragged but probably a good thing as he is now laying in bed at 7pm on a Saturday night - how things have changed.

Colts
What a game - probably the best of the day. An underperforming Cougar Cubs outfit away from home and up against an undefeated Noranda side. After watching the game, I would hope that our Cubs can produce that sort of footy week after week. Noranda Colts are VERY GOOD on the spread and have some great runners and a good forward line. Once our Cubs managed to cut their run off, it seemed they had no Plan-B. Noranda with the wind in the first term managed to take a 3/4 goal lead, which was pinned back in the 2nd when our boys had the wind. Same-same in the second half when Noranda took a 3-goal lead going into the final term only for the Cubs to run out 2-goal winners. Special mention to one of our Colts who turned 17 last week, a very quiet spoken lad, moved forward for the first time this season bagged 7-goals and a Colts Club record as well.

Reserves
Big challenge for the Super Twos coming up against another undefeated side in Noranda 2's. I thought we looked a little undermanned going into the game, but again the wind played havoc and the game plan for both sides was to nullify the damage when going against the wind then pile them on when going with it. Last term saw Noranda with a slight lead and coming home with the wind, but our Super Twos came home with the better legs and managed a great win. Some very happy boys there cheering the League boys on after.... as they should.

League
Game of two halves. CV got off to a flyer and kicked 9 of the first ten goals to be up by 45 points at half time. Noranda came out in the second half and played better footy, we probably took our foot off the accelerator which is a little disappointing, and I am sure the boys may get a bit of a bollocking during the week. Carlisle, away, next week. Top of the Table clash.... Excited to see the result... Though, after his bag of 5, this fat boy will be wetting a line down in Albany next week!

Interested to see some other write-ups.

Coolbinia easily beat Swan Valley.
The score there is 10 goals out.
Coolbinia kicked 19 goals not 9.

Got to Bassendeans game on Sat and a much improved performance. It was a good game of footy with a couple of players back playing. snesa played good footy at times and it is hard to see how they have been losing by so much in the past games. Good hard game with no incidents at all. Interesting to see Mosman Parks score. What happened Thornlie to be beaten by so much? Players out or were Mosman just too good. Anyone got a write up from that game.

Big game next week against the brilliant GF bound Noranda?? Huge grudge match this one, will be watching on for sure next saturday.

Mosman Park v Thornlie

Colts
Not much really to report, game was just dominated by Thornlie's run and easily defeated an inexperienced Mossie Park colts

Reserves
Again, this game was very one sided with Thornlie keeping Park to just 1 point beating them by over 150 points

League
Well this was a real wake up call for the Thorblie league team. First quarter the umpiring was absolutely atrocious on all counts from both clubs umpires, boundary umpires were no better. Mosman Park eventually ran out 70 point winners with much better run through the centre feeding their forwards with great scoring opportunities and their defence was second to none just completely closing down Thornlie's attack.

So Mosman Park have different players or did they just play better football compared to the past games? Thornlie missing any players? Or no real excuses.

You would have to ask Mossie but I think it would be close to the best side Mossie have fielded all year, between that and just a real off day for Thornlie. I would think there may be a much different result next time around down at Thornlies ground... We will have to wait and see.

Question for anyone from Mossies, do you guys only have 20 or so good players? To beat Thornlie league but then your ressies to only manage 1 point for the whole game at home is just astounding... Or are Thornlies Ressies just really that good?

Correct Pack Crusher They had one of there better sides out there this weekend, Still have a few to come back in which will also help with depth.

The Game on the weekend was played in good spirits. To thornlie's credit they never gave up and kept trying all day, Mossies was just a class above on the day.

Also with the Reserves, Have a few injury's to league players but also missing about 8-10 reserve players through injury, work ETC. So hopefully they will get a few back in the coming weeks/

Mossies completely out played thornlie jumping out of the blocks with the first 5 goals in the 1st quarter and we're never really threatened from there. Mossies played with a lot of confidence and heaps of talk, which to me is the gauge of wether a side is on or not. With A couple of winnable games ahead to finish off the first round of fixtures would see us in a good position to push for the all important top 3 and double chance.

Thornlies point of view.
We had maybe 3 or 4 players missing. But lets be honest our depth at the club is good and thats no excuse for a 12 goal loss.

Mossy did not allow us any movement all day and always had players dropping back which made it difficult for our big forwards. They beat us all over the ground
Full credit- Mosman will be a top 5 side

If mossy can play like that every week there going to be a force. They have so far been the most physical side we have played and werent to scared to throw themselves around.

Thornlie will bounce back in style with a home game this week.
