Noranda vs Valley

COLTS SV 2-9-21 NH 18-18-126

Only caught the second half of the colts game. The boys are looking good great ball movement and control. Promising signs for the season being three and zip. Looking forward to their next hit out on home soil.

RESERVES SV 3-10-28 NH 13-10-88

Great hard fought game by both sides after half time but the damage was already done. Noranda were up by 7 goals at half time and only managed 1 in the third, the then kicked 3 late goals in the last to run out eventual 10 goal winners to remain undefeated. Both sides had a players sent off in separate incidents late in the third for a bit of push and shove in what was otherwise a clean game!

LEAGUE SV 7-3-45 NH 28-19-187

The Hawks absolutely dominated from the first bounce rushing to a 43 point lead inside 15mins and never looked back. The foward line got plenty of supply from the rampant midfield. Once the midfielders decided to start kicking goals the valley had no hope. Respect to swan valley for fighting hard till the final siren.

I think its fair to say that Noranda absolutely DESTROYED Swan Valley this week, and sends a strong message through the comp in all grades!

Good work on the win. Dont think a C2 grade win will send any messages though.

Good luck.

All for the banter Agro & Forward50 but try not to get too far ahead of yourselves. Same thing happened last year at the club at senior level if i'm not wrong.

Not wrong at all. 3 teams in GF 2 suffered heavy 10 goal defeats. Lets hope we have learnt from that!

Not getting in front of ourselves just exciting
times ahead being currently undefeated after promotion and showing some dominant displays.

You learn your lesson from losing GF
and we will improve from that

looks to planning out to be a interesting year.

on another note carlile being the other team
promoted are also undefeated in all grades im pretty
sure im correct in saying that

anyway back onto the track and reload for round 4

Looking forward to the Noranda v Basso game opening up a few old wounds. Sat June 7th down in the diary already. Win that one Forward50 and I'm ok with the lads getting excited.

Agree Dirty, its only rd 3 and its as if they have finished on top and are in the granny! Wait until everyone has played each other then start to talk hot air. Noranda and Basso game should be a beauty as you mentioned. Basso were disappointing on Sat , only a few winners on the ground, but a lot of spectators.

Bassendean vs Canningvale

My apologies for the lack of info for this weeks round up. I was late to the Colts game and had an appointment after playing Reserves and only watched the first term of the main game.

Colts;
In a re-match of last seasons GF, both sides went at it hard. Was good to see a few faces from the last years side still playing for Basso, meaning they have a good future ahead of them. Canningvale had a few filling the League side meaning they were slightly undermanned. The game itself saw Bassendean able to outrun and outspread the Cougar Cubs, from the little of the game that I watched, the Swans were much more damaging on the rebound. Some encouraging skills for both sides.

Reserves;
Woweee, what a game. One of the best I have been involved in.
A tight first quarter saw both sides go goal for goal with Basso having a slender 1-goal lead at the first break. Second term saw another arm wrestle with Basso getting a slightly bigger lead at the main break. Their slick midfield and forward line were the difference at this stage.
The third quarter saw more of the same hard nosed and clean footy by both sides only for Basso's best player at the time to spit it with the umpire after a decision and ended up getting himself yellow carded for the last part of the term. Basso had a handy 3-goal lead. Final quarter saw the hungry Cougars blow Basso out of the game with a 6-goal to 0-goal term. A much needed win by the cougars.

League;
After a 1-1 record last season, this game was always going to be intriguing. I saw the first quarter only and the Cougars kicked the first 5-goals only for Yarran to kick a good goal from the boundary and Basso to kick one more to be three goals down at the first break. In the end the Cougars won by four goals to be 2-1 with the loss being a game they should have won as well after having far more scoring shots.

Ace - sorry I couldn't stay for a beer mate, prior engagement! I did have a beer with Ace Jnr though. Haha

Interesting to see Warnbro being beat again and Noranda having a good win against what I thought must have been an improved Swan Valley side... Both promoted sides 1&2 thus far which is extremely interesting. Canningvale won their first 5 last season before losing the next four as injuries and fatigue set in with the less seasoned bodies.

Very confident from the Noranda guys on here which provides a bit of banter. Early days yet, gents.
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.
