Strange game down at Brentwood. 1/4 time score was Balla 6.1 to Dogs 0.1 with brentwood probably suffering from 2 weeks off. Dogs then controlled the game 26 scoring shots to 9 but obviously kicked like old grandmas. It was pretty difficult to watch at times but to Ballas credit they took their chances and held on. Lots of new players at Brentwood might take a few weeks to gel to the level required to really be contenders.

at least we werent the only ones who couldn't buy a goal. ours luckily didn't come back to bite us like Brentwoods.

Reserves
the first half was a good contested game with their reserves have a few very slick ball movers that can cause some troubles. from what I heard our boys got on top in the second half and ran away with it.

League
DM actually led nearly all day after a 4 goals to none first quarter I think we kicked three points, the lead was cut to 3 goals at the half then 2 goals by three quarter time. after the game the coach said they only scored 1 goal after half time we then kicked a goal in the last minute to give us the lead, DM had one last forray forward but it was seen out of bounds seconds before the siren blew. it was a good hard game all round. with DM again having some very good ball movers and very smart forwards. also just before three quarter time one of their younger blokes number 11 I think took easily the best mark I've seen for a long time we did get a good photo of it and I'll try to get a copy to put up.

yeah I think everything pretty much has been said about what happened at teh kennel on saturday, but take nothing away from Balla, they are very strong across all grades!!

Interesting result for Ellenbrook, heard they may have had a coupel missing, any one wish to comment on the game.

Also Dianella must be on the improve with their new recruits, thought kenwick would have run away with it!! apart from manning, I think it is going to be a very even competition this year and even good sides who work hard may miss the 5!!

Yeah Ellenbrook apparently had a few out but none the less Cockburn were the better team all day. Played great footy and never looked like losing don't think those few missing players would of made a difference.

Only watched the first quarter of the main event as I had to shoot off.
No excuses, the 22 that pulled on the Eels jumper got beaten by Cockburn who wanted the ball more.

The ressies game was a cracker which had a bit of everything - including the ball springing a leak. Eels came from 3 or 4 goals down to get the 2 point win.

Yes on ellenbrook , whilst there were a number missing , every player that stepped up has league experience, Cockburn wanted it more and just out hustled the eels. By the looks C3 is anyone's this year and the fight for top 2 , top 5 and relegation is going to go down to the wire this season ! Every game is going to be so important !

Agree with most of that Big Red, but with 1 team already relegated I don't think anyone has too many doubts on who the other might be at this stage... But that team is still on 0-2 and I suppose stranger things have happened.

Good to see 4 games between balla and brentwood on the weekend, really promising signs for the club with a thirds team up and about for balla.

sounds more like a big red herring from "Big Red". I heard 2 players come out of retirement to play because ellenbrook were so short.
