Unfortunately we went down over the weekend. A lapse in concentration and poor player management by the coach after quarter time (we don't actually have a coach) allowed Noranda to kick 7 unanswered goals in a row to win by 20 points. We toiled throughout the day and won the other 3 quarters, but couldn't quite reel in the lead.
There were a few standout performers on both sides in a game that was played in really good spirit of which I would expect of the E2 competition. We appreciated the Noranda coach coming over and congratulating us on the game, which was a nice touch.
However, I now have a new goal in life. I want to be a C2 reserves player because I've become aware that affords you a few extra luxuries and privileges in life. I've learnt that you can stand on the boundary line and question opposition players sexual preferences, make fun of any turnover or imperfect disposal, swear and carry on without the normal standards of society applying to you when you've reached such a lofty level of excellence in your football career. I feel this gentleman's time could have been better spent occupying the vacant boundary umpire role.
I'll be hoping for some fuel discount vouchers with my weekly shop with a game away at Warnbro this weekend.
