Dingo wrote: Early days FL25 but what the hell! I haven't heard much about scratch matches, for what that is worth anyway? The Valley play Canning this week and Melville the week after.

You would think last years finalists will be thereabouts again, the two relegated clubs should be strong and the promoted sides will be out to stay! All obvious conclusions! As they say the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.....

Dingo, any results on the scratch matches held

All im saying Maggies is that scratchie is a scratchie all you should be worried about is getting good numbers on the park and getting some good run in their legs, not having ago at your club or team but just in general.
Scrathies are set up not to win or lose but to get some match fitness ready for round 1 as well as having a look at what players you have, what pos is best for certin players ect ect.
Time will tell for yourclub/team and all other waafl clubs come crunch time at the end of the season.

Valley played Melville last Saturday - Valley played League/Colts and a Reserves/Colts squads, can't speak for Melville. Valley prob won the first reserves game by a kick or two and lost the second by about the same. We've played Melville three years in a row now, good bunch, games always played as scratch matches should be - thx Rams! Canning in two games this Saturday.

Valley had two mixed squad games against Canning - again played in good spirit. Canning up in the first one by a few and The Valley in the second for what it's worth results wise. Interesting to see the big mid fielder from Warnbro playing for Canning.
