Canning Vale 6.11-47 def by Warnbro Swans 22.18-150

Manning Rippers 1.9-15 def by Snesa 26.10-166

Bassendean 11.8-74 def by Mosman Park 12.13-85

Kenwick def Swan Valley by 48

Quinns District 13.13-91 def Canning South Perth 9.15-69

Well some more interesting results! Canningvale put their finals hopes in jeopardy, falling again to a top five side and their percentage copped a pounding too. The Valley were well beaten by a more committed Kenwick to add some spark to the relegation battle. SNESA did as expected, Mossie Park held off Basso and Quinns stamped their authority with a solid win over the Tigers.

Quinns V Canning game was a cracker with Canning being on top most of the game up until 3 quarter time. But the Bulls dug Deep for the captain who broke his leg in the 2nd quarter and totally dominated the last. A quality game played in good spirits these two should play off again this year. Looking forward to watching the rematch.

Has anyone heard from LAG? I hope he's ok and hasn't topped himself after his league teams season is all but over and the young cubs couldn't back up the form from the previous week. Maybe our colts coach was right?! Chin up LAG.

Sure canningvale are having a rough year but they'd still bury your c4 side by a comfortable 20 goals any day.

Fair suck mad dog.....All that is happening with Canningvale is they are learning that as you go up the grades it becomes harder to win all the time.

Chill out lads, just a bit of banter following on from last week. I always look forward to LAG's write up come Sunday early Monday and he was a noticeable absentee. They've had a great year really.

I wouldn't be surprised to see swan view go through something similar over the coming years, given you're currently dominating c4 and have a strong colts set up we might see a quick rise through the grades to c1 or c2.
Think canningvale are finding their feet in c2 this year, anyone will tell you the jump from c3 to c2 is quite a big one in terms of skills, speed and intensity (just look at how Belmont went last year).
I know your mob were up there round b/c grade and pretty competitive only a couple of years ago so the higher c grades should be a little more familiar to some of your older heads.
I Don't mean any disrespect either, you guys have done well to get back up and about given all the issues you had at the start of last year when you only had the 1 side. Well done

G'day gents.

My bad, my bad. Was the WAAFL site down on Sunday?? I couldn't find any scores, then yesterday had a strategic monthly meeting... hence the MIA.

Nevertheless - tough day for the Cougars!

Colts
Canningvale 4.10.34 def by Warnbro 9.3.57
Missed the first half of this game, but I believe our guys were down by a goal at the main break and then by a similar margin at the final break only to go on and lose by 23-points with more scoring shots...
A real wake up call for the Cubs as they progress towards the finals. Currently sitting 3rd by percentage, they missed a real opportunity to be just the one game behind the Viewers. With a massive game against Quinns this week then Manning the week after, if we win this week we will likely finish second and face Quinns first week finals. Not all doom and gloom for the Colts though as after the League result on the weekend, our main side is likely to finish 6th leaving a squad of 40 fresh Colts to choose from in the finals - a scary thought for any opposition.

Reserves
Canningvale 5.5.35 def by Warnbro 19.17.131
Bit of banter from our two's this week as they 'lost by less than us' haha.. Another tough day, but they will keep on fighting and I am sure they will be eyeing off Manning in the last game of the season for thier first win.

League
Canningvale 6.11.47 def by Warnbro 22.18.150
What can I say, first 100-point beating in the club history. Tough day in the office for us... As a goal-hungry forward, the last two weeks I have spent time in the midfield and across half-back which shows our lack of depth. Undersized, undermanned and out played by a better football side. I will admit, Warnbro really didn't impress me first time round, but on Saturday, they were as good as any side we have played this year - their forward 50m entries were the BEST I had seen since my last season in the Sunday League.
Currently sitting 6th and with our percentage taking a beating, we face Quinns and Manning in the last two rounds. Would need to win both games or beat Manning by 300+ and rely on results going our way...

Further to the above comments, not putting the cue in the rack yet, BUT, I think this season we are on par with what I expected. Two grades in two seasons, I really think the guys have enjoyed the challenge as opposed to winning most games by 100+ as in previous seasons. I will admit, we lost 5/6 guys from last year and I think if we had those guys we would have been better off, but personally, I think the main difference between C2 and the lower grades is the physicality. In the past two years we have been able to get away with being a smaller side because we were fitter and had more run. So far this year, the better sides have exposed us.
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

kenwick closing the gap between them and Valley.
The Manning boys copping another slapping.
Basso and Mossie very close. would love to hear more! in saying that i did hear that some contraversial decisions were made by the umps in the last qtr!
canningvale looks to finish a respectful 6th on the ladder after a back to back premiership and find there feet in C2 this year.
And the tigers for the first time this season forfit there thirds side to make up to eleven changes to there leauge side after a big hit of injuries focing players to play up. (as BULLBOY said they did play a hard game and take it to quinns leading at every change but the last)

Colts
the colts game was a very skillful contest with our boys coming off second best to a determined swan valley. they moved the ball well and pressured our boys off the ball on occasion.

Reserves
the valley reserves locked their finals spot away with the win over our two's, they controlled the game from the start and had a good win.

League
the crowd had gathered for the big game being our past players & sponsors day plus the 30th reunion for our clubs first grandfinal there was some good old heads around the club. the game started at a decent pace with us being innaccurate in front of goals but letting the valley slip in so we trailed at quarter time 1.8 to 3.1 the next quarter we started slotting some goals to build a lead into halftime. after an extended halftime where the auskickers played a game we continued to build on the lead, we were still being very innaccurate but locked the ball in our forward half for much of the third and had a six goal lead at the change. we had a couple out in the last quarter but the guys on the field continued to build the lead. this win keeps our hopes of avoiding relegation alive with this weekend being another extremely important game.

on a side note, I heard SNESA's oval is flooded and a few juniors games where abandoned there on the weekend. Rumour has it the game might be held at our home ground. can anyone from SNESA confirm this?
