3 rounds to go and now it’s impossible for Armadale and Belmont to avoid relegation. The weather played a bit of havoc on some games with some real wet weather football for the first time in a long time. The ressies games were all 1 sided with only 1 game not having a 100+ point blowout and even that was a 7 goal margin.

Noranda (2nd) v Carlisle (3rd) @ Lightning Park
Match of the Round.
What a cracker to start the round with. The Hawks ran out 42 point winners last time and will be keen to lock in a top 2 spot at home this week. For Carlisle it’s a chance to push for a home qualifying final and ensure the double chance. With both sides likely to meet up again at some stage during the finals, this game should have the lot !!
Noranda to win.
Nollamara (4th) v Dianella Morley (7th) @ Des Penman Reserve
4 goals was the margin in Nolla’s favour last time and they will be out to extend the margin this time. With Cockburn breathing down their neck, a big win this week will help cement a home elimination final. The Raiders are still a mathematical chance but realistically their chances are gone. Look for them to try to take a couple of big scalps in the last few days to finish the season strongly.
Nollamara to win.
Belmont (10th) v Ballajura (8th)@ Forster Park
Belmont were competitive against the Raiders last week but the weather would have helped them out there. They will rate this and round 18 as chances for a win so don’t be surprised to see a closer margin than expected. The Royals looked very good in patches on the weekend and will want a big result this week. The larger oval won’t suit their style of play but they should be a better side on a dry day.
Ballajura to win.
Armadale (9th) v Cockburn (5th) @ Gwynne Park
Not a lot has gone right for the Demons this season but they’ll be aiming for a couple of big home games over the next couple of weeks, Cockburn are trying to hold off the fast finishing East Freo and overtake Nolla in the race for 4th. The warrior need a big win to help their finals chances and this could turn ugly.
Cockburn to win.
Ellenbrook (1st) v East Fremantle (6th) @ Coolamon Oval
Eels won by 23 points last time but East Freo have been on fire since then until they lost to the team who’s spot they want. Every game is a must win for Easts so I don’t expect them to leave any stone unturned in the quest for 4 points. After the confines of Kingfisher, the Eels will be happy to be back on Coolamon Oval to try and help celebrate a big milestone of 200 club games for one of our life members.
Ellenbrook to win.
