Another week goes by and the C2 Competition delivers another cracking weekend with the weather evening things up! Mossie Park get over the Royals by 6-goals - an expected result one would think. After last times 170-odd point win, the Saints push league leaders Quinns to within 4-goals. Canning give our young Cougars a footy lesson... again! and in the GOTR, Basso beat Warnbro in a thriller leaving the Warnbro vs Canningvale match this weekend essentially an Elimination Final.

Can anyone give us the result of the Vally Manning game? I would expect Valley to have won quite easily, but with the Royals up the Valley's bum the result does have bearing on the relegation battle.

Obviously, didn't get to watch this game as it was out at Swan View and the rest of us were at the Wyong Mud-Pit, but being the top of the table clash, I was not surprised in the least that the game was decided by less than a kick. Here-say tells me that the Cougars kicked 12-behinds before kicking it straight which could have cost them the game but thankfully didn't.

Here-say also tells me that the adventures of Kermit the Swan View Coach/Runner continued on the weekend as well. Now some of you may remember last time that the bloke who was Running/Coaching for Swan View at the Den was Red Carded - I had never seen someone in that position carded before.... Now I hear post-match that as our Coach went to shake hands after the game he said something along the lines of well done, see you in the finals to which Kermit proceeded to say 'Nah, you blokes won't make it - you're shit'.... Interesting comment to say the least.
Well Kermit, we very much look forward to meeting you in the finals - especially as the way our League side is going, we will have a full squad of Colts to choose from...

Believe it or not, the Cougar Super Two's had a 1.3 - 0.1 lead at quarter time!! Unfortunately, they didn't score a goal for the rest of the game! Nothing of note within the game itself - well done to our guys who really showed some passion in such dreary conditions! I think regardless of the result they really enjoyed themselves yesterday! That's what footy is about!

League
Dealt a footy lesson by our cross-town rivals. Too big, too slick and too experienced. Canning are a good side....! We had 8-Colts double up and 1-Reserves player fill the void in our team that was caused by the festival of Splendour! Game played in good spirits - some colourful fans for the Tigers braved the rain and made some noise, providing constructive criticism to both our guys and even the team mates of their sons...!!! Side notes - we lost our skipper (and best player) in the first quarter with an eye injury - haven't heard what the go it, but I know he was sent to Royal Perth and I do believe one of the young indigenous boys for Canning got dragged after giving away a 50m penalty, I was told he spat it and took his things and left?? Maybe KTB can elabourate. All in all we were beaten on the day by a better side.
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

The Valley got up in all three grades, big margins in all three games. Credit to the Rippers who are doing it tough, plenty of doubling meangoals. t they had some very tired boys. Good on em for sticking by their club in tough times. League to Valley by 10+ goals. Will hopefully get our scores up today, not sure what happened!

Pretty informed write up on the colts game there LAG all based on "here say"
May I correct you on a few things as i was at both games.Firstly, the card shown at the corresponding game was withdrawn after realising it was unwarranted. It was after your umpire was sucked in by your constantly whinging parents/supporters,most of whom could be heard continually doing the same thing yesterday from all parts of the ground.
Secondly, the runner shook your coaches hand without words and it was in fact the coach of the our colts who uttered some of those words. He informed us of his actions and we beleive it to be out of frustration from the way his team approached the game but hardly worth you needing to jump on here and act all high and mighty.
As your boys would be well aware from 2 Saturdays ago,if you don't bring your A game then you can be beaten by an inferior side. From where I was watching our boys should've probably lost the game by 3,4,5 goals. It wasn't the loss that "you have to have" but it certainly hurt and made the lads aware that they need to lift their game. I'm sure they'll meet again and with your league team appearing to take second fiddle behind the colts I've no doubt you'll be stronger as will we.

Loves a goal,

Very interesting comment from you in regards with your league team " as the way our league squad is going we will have a full colts squad to choose from". Yesterday morning u boys were sitting 4th but probably going to be bumped down to 6th with this weekends results. Are you pretty much saying that u have no chance of beating warnbro or quinns to get yourselves back into the 5?

Weather played a good part in the results yesterday, i was sceptical of everyones predictions of the mossie kenwick game sayin mossie would only get up by 5 or 6 goals considering basso beat them by near on 20 goals the week before. How right you all were!!

The final 3 rounds are going to determine 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th position on the ladder with most of these side playing each other. Will be an interesting finish!!

Well went to Warnbro yesterday to see a very good game of footy . The final scores were a little flattering to Warnbro as there umpire and goal umpire probably aided in 3 or 4 goals for Warnbro. That aside it was a quality game, worthy of B grade quality.

I have only seen a few games this year of Basso and from what I have seen the club are heading in the right direction. I don't know who the league coach is but he seems to have bought this team together and play smart games of footy. Warnbro were also very good and will cause problems come finals. Although proper umpires in the finals may hinder them.

May even go to there games to watch as it is good entertainment . Number 8 ,2 ,14 had a very good game as did number 5 for Bassendean. The other scores were as expected , but Quinns a little closer than I thought. CSVP could be the main danger to Quinns.

Shaping up to be interesting couple of weeks.

Hope your young bloke is ok LAG, was it a finger to the eye or some mud?
How did u go in the pit yesterday, get down n dirty? It's apparently good for your skin!
Yes I did hear that one of the players spat it after being dragged and giving away a 100m penalty. All I know is that it was one of the Hanson boys, that's it for now but ill find out some more goss during the week!

Apparently spat it after getting dragged for giving a 100m penalty. Threw his guernsey in the mud then went home. Don't think he will play again

Correct me wrong, but I think statistically, we have to beat either Warnbro or Quinns AND Manning to make the 5 hence the Elimination Final this week statement....? The way we are going currently, we are not in the same league as the top 2/3 sides as Canning showed us this weekend. We need a big effort to get up and about if we want to make finals... Either way, I was making the assertion that our Colts will be much stronger IF our League side is knocked out..!

KTB - yes mate he is ok - apparently his eye is in 'shock' but he has most of his vision back and they simply glued it back together or something... Good result for us as he MAY be able to play this week! Hard day for me mate - ball struggled to get down my end and I ended up in the guts for the last term... a position I haven't played for a long long time! haha loved the mud though - proper footy!!!

Hello MadDog, - was waiting for you to pipe up! Our League side will never play second fiddle hence why we have 4/5 Colts playing full-time League and another 4/5 doubling up each week... Whatever will be, will be, and if the Colts are good enough to make it deeper in the season than the League - we will back them 100%. Our League side have moved up two grades in two season and we are stoked with how competitive we have been thus far! Our Colts are also doing fantastically well considering we didn't even have a side last year! My apologies if I had the wrong guy who made the comment I was just drawing comparisons between the card in the first game and the poor comment in the second game.

Clearly Swan View and Canningvale now have created some sort of rivalry in the Colts which is fantastic as we draw towards the pointy end of the season! Rivalries like this are why we play footy!
