FL87 wrote: Tough day down at The River. Our boys led all day until the last 10 mins of the game when TAs got the jump on us. They kicked the last 3 goals and we just flopped. Our morale has taken a hit and with guys missing training, its hard to band together and finish off games. This week's game is an absolute must win for us. On another note, TAs umoirw was the worst we've had all year. He umpired both games and was completely biased towards his side. It was as though he was in a Boomers jumper. He did make some calls our way but they were blatantly obvious decisions. At half time of the league game, I saw him standing around with the Reserve Ta players laughing and carrying on which leads me to think that something was array. The bloke was yoing enough to play for TAs too. I don't normally have a dig at the umpires as they call it how they see it, but this guy was a cheat. All frees that would normally get paid for weren't called by him if it was in our favour, such as in the back, holding and chopping of the arms. I'd be wary of this guy if you're playing TAs in the coming weeks as he could cost you the game, some say he did in our game. Rant over

Are you referring to the midget looking guy? If so I remember him when we played them at their home ground. Average umpire but nowhere as bad as jandakots umpire

Yes I was referring the that idiot. He wasnt too bad at Billy Grayden, extremely horrible at oyr ground. Our coach had enough of it and had a dig at himbfrom the boundary. Never swore at him, just vented his frustration aboit how he'd never pay us a free kick but would be quick on the whistle for TAs. Tje ump decided to Yellow Card our coach, for nothing too out of the ordinary from a frustrated coach. Complete tool he was.

No, the game was well and truly a TAs win. He umpired both games, both shocking decisions and favoritism from him.

I'm sorry mate, but please don't be disrespectful towards our boys and imply that Southern River were somehow robbed of a win? You weren't. You were outplayed on the day in a tough contest, fought out in good spirit shown by both sides. In case you were wondering, I watched both games, and Southern River were outplayed in both, (comprehensively in the Reseves).

You should instead be focused on your own backyard, namely the behaviour of your coach during the Ressies game. The manner in which you describe his 'dig at the umpire', demonstrates that your ears work about as well as your eyes – Poorly. In contrast to what you have described, it was in fact an unprompted outburst which stunned all and sundry watching the game. It amounted to an expletive-ridden tirade of abuse towards the unofficiating umpire, after his team had just won a free kick. It was disgusting, unwarranted and absurd. Instead of condoning this behaviour, you might in fact be best served ensuring this doesn't happen again. At least for the sake of the few families and supporters who actually do come down and support, they should not have to be exposed to this sort of disgusting language and behaviour.

You should also be very careful when you comment that ‘something was array’ in regards to TA’s players and officials socialising with the umpire during the half-time break. By doing this you are implying that TA’s are ‘cheats’, and should retract your comment immediately. Instead of making these slanderous accusations, I suggest you take note of how we treat our umpiring officials, as you might learn a thing or two. It was hard not to notice that the torrent of abuse coming from Southern River players and officials on the day was not directed solely at the TA’s provided umpire, (as you only seem to point out) but equally at your own umpire! It’s almost laughable that you then come on to this forum to forewarn others about the potentially impact of the TA’s umpiring on their matches. Pull your head in.

All that being said, I wish Southern River all the best for the remainder of the season, and hope to see you guys again come finals.
