It took a while but finally all the scores were uploaded. BIG upset this weekend means only 2 away sides win. Not a lot actually put their tips in which has spread the ladder out a bit further this week.

Carlisle (2nd) v East Fremantle (7th) @ Carlisle Reserve
Game of the Round. Wouldn’t have given this one the GOR until Easts shock upset of Noranda on the weekend. All of a sudden they are a dark horse to shoot up the ladder, if they win 6 of their next 8, they’ll be on 40 points which could be enough to claim 5th spot. They’ll have plenty of confidence now and will fancy themselves against any team in C3. Carlisle had comfortable win against Ballajura and will now be hoping to challenge the Hawks for the top spot. The Cougars won by 74 points the first time round but know even at home, they can’t take EF lightly.
Carlisle to win.
Dianella Morley (6th) v Ballajura (8th) @ Dianella Open Space
Last time they met it, the game was called off and they were awarded a draw. Both are coming off losses and really need this win to stay in touch with the 5. I expect this game to be an arm wrestle but at Light St I think the Raiders might play with a little bit more gusto. Hopefully it lasts the full 100 minutes this time.
Dianella to win.
Belmont (10th) v Cockburn (5th) @ Forster Park
Belmont only lost by 44 points the first time round so aren’t without hope. They played a very tight game against the Eels for the first 75 minutes before being on the receiving end of a 12 goal last quarter. If they could keep the pressure up for the whole game they would have had some wins against their name. Cockburn did their bit to hold 5th spot by knocking down one of the challengers in DM on the weekend, now they have to make sure they don’t get complacent. Forster Park should suit their style of play pretty well.
Cockburn to win.
Noranda (1st) v Armadale (9th) @ Lightning Park
Was it a minor pothole in the road to premiership glory or the vehicle starting to fall apart? Definitely the former in my opinion. There was suggestions from some that they were more worried about the reserves game on the weekend but I don’t know how anybody could think like that – the club goes forward with the league side. Noranda wouldn’t risk a league loss to keep the reserves perfect season intact. I think the Hawks would have learnt a huge amount from last weekend game and can’t see a repeat dose happening here. Poor Armadale, cop it from Nolla and then get it back to back from Noranda.
Noranda to win.
Nollamara (4th) v Ellenbrook (3rd) @ Coolamon Oval
Both sides are coming off good wins and would be desperate for the 4 points to keep their top 3 double chance alive. Last time the Cougars nailed a 2 point win and they would be confident of repeating the dose this time around. The Eels head back to Des Penman for the first time in a couple of years and would love to return the favour and take the points home.
Ellenbrook to win.
