Wiz,
As a matter of fact...if you would care to get a quick update I suggest you go to U Tube and check out 'Cockburn Cobras Promotional' video.

The Cockburn stuff seems very heavy handed indeed, I'm not across the full specifics beyond what was reported at the time.

I am just not a fan of everyone throwing mud as soon as a club gets a good player into the league. Happens every time. Should be celebrating the league becoming more and more legitimate.

Should they tweak the definitions of "amateur" status? Possibly. That is another conversation.

So what was removed? Is it worth re-posting?

Hi Lando,
not sure it will be reposted...Oz Footy have explained it can't be found.

However as has been mentioned previously 'this injustice' will not go away, so additional information will be released when considered appropriate.

Case in point....When this Travesty occurred one of the coaches ph'd witness X (before all coaches ph #'s were blocked by him) and asked "Why did you say this about our Club" to which he replied "Because HE forced me too".
He then hung up and has not been contactable since.

The coaches at the time have no doubt who 'HE' is.
It was even reported to the WAFC and one coach spoke to a female legal representative?
Will leave at that at this stage.

Hi all,
a question that some would like to know for Clarity is.
'How was witness X forced to say what he said about the club'
It will all be revealed going fwd, Community Football needs to make sure there is never a repeat. (Of agendas)

Ok just following up.

Witness X (in his own words) was forced to say what he said about the club. (Offering travel incentives) otherwise he would be ruled ineligible for the Grand Final with his at then present club.

How was that possible, you ask?

Witness X had moved to WA from interstate (SA).
He contacted his local club about playing and asked what his $$ would be.
(As he found out in due course that is an offence) and it was that leverage that the Integrity Unit utilised to force him to sign  a stat dec. Or miss out on possible premiership.
Which they did in fact win.

I think the easy solution here is to remove the word amateurs, allow clubs to pay money to players in whatever process they like, and if clubs play overs and struggle in the future that then becomes a governance issue for clubs

Just tier it - either teams have an amount for a year they can spend or a cap per week. If a club then in D grade wants to spend money to get players to help their club move up the ladder they can, but they have to balance this up with the players they could lose by bringing in new players.

It boils down to clubs then deciding what they want to do, they can choose between short term success or long-term players in the same grade

PH,
I agree with your comments as I do with TT and The Wiz.

TT, which clubs Integrity unit focuses on as opposed to other?

The Wiz, "Your Club treated harshly" ...the only issue with that comment however would be if we had indeed done what we were convicted of.
Thus not "Harshly" rather 'Stiched Up'.

This 'pursuit' is about making sure such Travesty is never allowed to occur again to any club, let alone a fledgling one!

Hi Lando,
moving fwd to 2023 I think its important to endevour to answer your questions about the original post that was lost. (Particularly while we all take a break over the festive season)

It has also been raised "why did witness X leave his original club (Nth of river) to go to a club that is Sth of the river?

Then again why did he then leave said club to go back to a Nth of river club?

Looking fwd to answering all queries in 23.

Have a great festive season!

Well New Years Eve is here and thought what better time to try to repost 'lost' original comment.

Will be guilty of sharing a New Year resolution however.

"So long as i live and breath the travesty that the club endured will not be allowed to be swept under the carpet."
As a previous sponsor of the club, i now have no association with, speak for or represent at any level the Cockburn FC.

However as a said sponsor and for the future governance of community football ...(where volunteers give selflessly, hundreds of hrs service.)
The quest is to see relevant individuals held accountable for their actions.

Have a great, happy New Years night and here's hoping 2023 is a wonderful year for all!!
