By the way the crowds this year are pathetic. And it is a result of the current system in place.

I noticed clubs keep persisting with this stupid start time of 4.15pm on a Saturday. How are those crowds going? And apparently there is a game coming up on channel 7 between EF and Perth that is starting at 11.30am?? That will be another fantastic look for the WAFL with East Fremantle oval 99% empty, and on TV for all too see.

Dumb ideas, dumb start times, no consistency, no bloody idea

All run by Channel 'BULLY with the WAFL jock siffers trailing behind sniveling 'yes sir' 'Yes Sir .......
Such a F...k Up with the players clubs and supporters left to do their best to follow scattered schedules and little support.

I too agree the SANFL have got it right - but sadly because they have done it - those that prefer to have their own agendas back patted and kissed wont see the Rose between the thorns

Jardine we will agree to disagree on your previous post other than to say I suspect that we will be down to 8 WAFL clubs in3 or 4 years' time.

With respect to the 11.40 that is purely and simply because of Channel 7's requirement for that game time.

You actually reiterate my point exactly Swan42.

Eagles people do not, will not, and never will identify themselves with East Perth. They are DNA designed to respond to the term "Eagles" and the colours Blue & Gold. Likewise Dockers people with Peel Thunder. Its all the same. The crowds therefore will be either the same as normal, or more likely less given the disenfranchised people like myself.

Like I have expressed on countless occasions, we would love all AFL players to be spread evenly across all WAFL clubs, creating a fairer competition. I want that as much as you do. But its beyond ever going back to that now. It just wont happen, so why linger on about it. Trying to get something better is better than doing nothing at all isn't it?

The idea Ive suggested isn't anything new. The SANFL are doing the exact same thing I am suggesting. And it is working better than the alternative. Their crowds are better, the TV,Radio and print media are interested, and their traditional SANFL clubs overall benefit better as a result. This is all fact, nothing made up here. So given that, why the hell would anyone oppose it?

As for the usual questions about East Perth changing their name to the Eagles and taking on their colours etc etc. I am not interested in that or trying to have a logical discussion about it because I would have thought its obvious by now where I stand on that. I want East Perth to be East Perth always. I want Perth to be Perth always, I want South Fremantle to be South Fremantle always, I want Swan Districts to be Swan Districts always yada yada yada yada. And the only way I can see such a thing happening is if we follow the SANFL model 100%.

But as usual the South Aussies leave us here in WA for dead. They must truly think we hate our football over here, given the arse about way we do and accept things.

Jardine we should have had a ten team competition like south australia with two stand alone afl/wafl teams.West coast and Freo replacing peel.Would rather a level playing field of no afl players in any of the tradtional teams unless they have retired and want to play a season or two with their old club.I have been of the opinion that once a player is drafted by the eagles or dockers that they are no longer your property.Once you get the draft money why should they play for you.I think we have missed that boat but with tv rights up for grabs in 2016 i wouldn't be surprised that we end up with a afl reserves comp in the future as i am sure tv would love more footy content for their buck.

Chaddy22 how about what the players would like? I have every confidence that the vast majority of WAFL drafted players would prefer to play for their WAFL club they were drafted from when playing WAFl games rather than the host club alignment or what you propose.

The problem is they don't care what the players want. And they own them so for the AFL clubs they see it as essential (and their right) to have them in the same team. But no doubt there are many many players who would rather play with their original clubs, if they have one. Imagine Naitanui playing at EP? I know he is a commited Swans man, but the Eagles own him. This is an example of how yuk this all is. But if Naitanui lined up for an Eagles team in the WAFL, its at least more acceptable. We cant really argue with it. And then we can all just start getting on with talking about the footy again, instead of all this outside garbage. I know Ive had a gutful of it. Just get it sorted WAFC!!

I know where Swan42 is coming from, but its like flogging a dead horse. The cast has been set now and going back to that is a fruitless discussion unfortunately.

I would like Chaddy22's idea to become a reality, or similar. Anything along the lines for the Sanfl would be better that the mess we have now. And it would give us East Perth back as simply the East Perth Football Club 100%. The traditional 8 clubs intact and a competition, albeit not totally perfect. It probably never will be, but it can be better as we know.

In ten years peel will be rebranded the Mandurah Dockers.

If the West Coast Eagles are successful in getting into bed with (i.e. destroying the heart and soul of the demons) Perth, then the club which will go under to make it 8 teams participating in the WAFL competition will be, in my opinion, the club formerly known as East Perth.

Exactly right again Jardine. Particularly the bit highlighted in black. I would have hated Tendai line up against Perth whilst he was a possibility of playing for Peel last week - but if he was playing for the Mandurah Dockers I would be fine with it.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
