Virtually within a week of Fremantle announcing Jesse Hogan has taken a mental health break I think it’s very premature and headline grabbing to say he’s probably played his last game for Fremantle and key figures and some players are fed up and want to move him on. Mark Robinson has called the journo out without naming him.

Being a Fremantle supporter do I like hearing it? No I don’t because I know how much the club has invested in him but if taking 1 month, 3 months or 6 months off helps him reset and reduce his anxiety issues then so be it. Cool ya jets Haggers, stop trying to grab the headlines mate.

It’s got nothing to do with having blinkers on mate. If you read my post when I created the Hogan topic under the AFL section I said we might not get much more out of this bloke but to suggest the club are looking at cutting him loose is premature, sensationalist and opportunistic journalism trying to grab the headlines. Harley is no longer there so Hogan is his new Harley, no pun intended.

More headlines, this time of an ex- Eagles player in Kalgoorlie. Very sad situation. Most people have had a night out where they have gotten completely wasted but usually when you are in your 20's. Daniel Kerr is well and truly into his 40's. There are quite a few of those Eagles players from the early to mid 2000's who are doing it tough.

I think it clearly shows us that insidious Ice is a life sentence - this will keep happening just like Ben Cousins , Chick & Fletcher

There is probably some accuracy in what you say abt the WCE but I would suggest that they like the mining companies and other large employers of young men have learnt a lot since the early 90's and both deal with it very much differently as time has elapsed.

I think flogging the WCE because the small group of personnel have issues is a bit harsh, do you flog the banks, the companies in general for their employees in the same situation. The answer to that is clearly no given that those people don't have the same profile.

As for the thread header why are we surprised in any way how the worst reports anything!
