Fair enough of course you are. What I am trying to work out is how you can make such a definative assessment of the current standard of the womens competition when you don't actually watch it.

Mike...those making negative comments on this including me are on topic and expressing an opinion. Because it doesn't align with yours doesn't make them any less valid.

Saw some so called highlights on the TV, THAT as anough to realise i rate it along reality tv shows!

While most posters on here couldn't care less about the AFLW, I'd be bloody rapt if Claremont averaged nearly 6000 spectators at each home game.

Maybe the WAFL should reduce the entry fee or even scrap it and see if clubs can pick up the lost gate in extra food, beverage and merchandise sales?

They have collapsed from 15,000 to 5 or 6 in less than 2 or 3 years, and still with free entry. With enormous media subsidies and up against nothing, it really is who cares, ( not saying that many care about wafl anymore either btw).

Exactly, had more interest in Sam Kerr and Glory TBh it seems like the real thing and is internationally respected, Sam is off to Europe by the sounds.

Point taken and agree BC. I hope you will take your own advice if and when Swan42 returns from his sabbatical. He is often ridiculed for his "negative" opinions because they don't align with yours and other posters views.

An opinion piece by Rohan Connelly about the undoubted improvement in the standard of womens footy this year and the increased profile of womens sport in the media.
Any strategy that encourages women to be active participants in any sport has got to be a good thing surely?

Fair point Mike .....the difference being is that I agree with some of Sean's criticisms and on others have no opinion one way or the other but unfortunately, he is negative about everything which does get a bit tiresome for most of us on here....but yep...I'm hearing you.

Whilst the standard of some teams leaves a lot to be desired one must be impressed with Freo, North, Crows & Dogs. They play good football. Watched first game Cats vs Pies & thought it extremely poor. Cats won but both haven't since. Whilst the standard isn't huge it is better than none. I like it mainly as there is NO snipers & cowardly play which AFL is full of.
