Always said the Afl farked the whole thing up, way too many teams, freo came in at least 10 yrs too early and tbh I still dont think theres room for two teams in WA even now, as for two in Qld and Nsw that is a total joke , its never going to work and the afl is doing its arse propping them up and duds in Vic like St Kilda who have been shithouse for as long as Ive been alive...

Anyway people are voting with their feet and tv channels , crowds and ratings are down....

My big issue with the umpires is the rule states you must dispose of the ball correctly.

In the packs the amount of times you see the player "Try" to dispose of the ball and it spills out each game is unbelievable. The umpires say play on he tried and had no prior opportunity, yet the player didn't dispose of the ball correctly.
Call those free kicks more, and the packs won't form.

It was interesting reading what Diesel William's said in the weekend papers. When you have greats of the game bagging it right now is clear the game has issues.

As for the one sided games there are too many teams in the AFL, which makes the talent spread to thin.

Scrap GWS and Gold coast, Move North to Hobart and move St Kilda to Sydney. They AFL is wasting time and money trying to have two sides in Queensland. Brisbane is enough of a drain on the comp

Administrators are addicted to job justifying big moves. Expansion franchises have been totally unsuccessful and what do they do, create some more. Wce got a couple of flags with a state team, Adelaide the same. Other than that one wce drug flag and a port flag and that's it.

STT: all true -- I think one of Adelaide's flags was a fluke as they finished lowly on the ladder and lost their first final. They have also bailled PA out of the financial mire.

Post 1987, the only two clubs which are not dysfunctional are WC and Fremantle. This should, in theory, give our own football lot influence over the AFL, but, as we have seen, the Commission seems unable to rise to the occassion.

Yes one was a Darren jarman miracle. Dead right wa should be more powerful at afl commission level but as you know it's really still the vfl and anyone from here who gets involved gets seduced by Melbourne town. Richard goyder perfect example, what are the odds that he couldn't care less that the WAFL is the 2nd strongest comp in the country. I bet he isn't going around extolling its virtues and saying what a great job the comp has done to survive and thrive and let's make sure it stays wrong. He's allowed to, the afl run the code not just the comp but even if he was interested, which he isn't, if he talked about it in Melbourne there would be stunned silence.

So, adding in (the apparently discounted) WCE, Adelaide, and Port, expansion teams have won the 40% of the flags since 1992.

Dude come on. Sydney the relocation of a vfl club, Brisbane won flags after the merge ( and Johnno brown under father son). You kinda make my point. Expansion clubs nothing since 2006.

How anybody can take the performaces of Brisbane, Sydney, GWS and co seriously I do not know --they are not clubs their economic ventures of the AFL -- unsucessful ones at that.
