To this day the actual fact remains that Langer coached WA cricket side has not won anything in the long format of the Sheffield Shield - it's actually been pretty ordinary and sometimes diabolical , and while we're on that , just allow yourself to think about the team total of 77 in the match versus Tasmania in recent months.

Long form record a definite concern. As is that he is Bancroft's mentor. What would everyone's reaction be if Warner's mentor got the job?

Pretty sure Langer has coached WA into two finals and finished 3rd once(missing a finals possie by 2 pts) in his long format coaching tenure, I can see Southerners and STT concern......hopefully Langer can deliver the goods then in test cricket......

Initially I preferred Gillespie, but on reflection, reading/listening Langer's interviews, reading other folks comment on here, seeing his long format coaching efforts, Langer seems like a guy who is keen to see people develop not only as good cricketers but as good people......Langer in his forties the coach, seems a different cat to the one finding his way as player when in his twenties......

STT...pretty sure Warner has been an angry/arrogant ant for a long long time.....Bancroft seems like a different character altogether from Warner......Bancroft for unknown some reason was naively eager to please his senior colleagues......one who was his batting partner and the other his captain.......a decision he will always regret and and will surely never ever do again........
