AD -- Thanks your very kind I can understand your love for the EP flag. Do you think the Tom Percy faction will win the day? My great worry is that the WAFL Commission is wedded to the alignment idea. There are three clubs I would love to see win the flag:

Perth
East Perth
Old Easts

In regards, Abbot's knighthoods, it was a 'knighthood too far, so to speak, giving one to the old Greek, your arr right.

Ark, I also hope the Tom Percy faction wins the "war" but, alas, I'm not privy to the inner sanctum.
With Bronte Howson's AHG role having changed, meaning that organisation no longer sponsors EP, it's possible the Royal hierarchy looks more favourably on the alignment (but hopefully Tom is sticking to his guns).
It's hard to know what the WAFC wants re the alignment.
I hear stories that the Weagles would prefer a standalone side, so if that's the case you'd think the WAFC would be moving heaven and earth to engineer that.
Perhaps only Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot can work out what's really happening.

If you are looking for quick answers, wouldn't it be easier to head off to the Paddo, and get Neil Randall full of wallop? :cheer:

a'man, your last sentence says exactly what I was thinking when I saw him say it on TV. Arrogant pr*ck.

I'm not really fussed if the flag is changed or not, but if it was, my choice would be to have the Aussie Coat of Arms replacing the Union Jack and the colours of blue with white stars replaced by our sporting colours of bottle green with gold stars.

absolutely time to get rid of the union jack on our flag. I don't really mind what a new flag might look like and wouldn't care too much if they replaced he union jack with the aboriginal flag in the top corner whilst retain9ng the southern cross where it is...don't care...but ffs, let's cut the umbilical to England.

I agree with the Barmy Army when they say: "Get your stars off our flag."
In addition to being passionate cricket fans, prolific beer drinkers and fine lyricists (but somewhat ordinary singers), the Barmies are astute political commentators.

AD The trouble with the Barmy Army is that they fail to comprehend that it is our stars which add a touch of antipodean class to the union jack. The so-called debate over the flag was the one thing I ever saw Richie Benaud show a bias towards. After the 1989 series, there were a couple of Australian flag wavers in celebration, and, Benaud, apraphrasing, notted the fact and statted that it should long be the case. It was a magnificent little remark.
