I see the saffies are giving it to the curries on a green top with the score 7/150 or thereabouts....good stuff. I love seeing Kohli suffer in his jock strap. I wonder what he'll complain about next?

The pitch is playing all sorts of tricks on day 1 so the Indian score is quite competitive I think.

Trap for young players as you went early there BC. Always wait until the other team bats
I know there is something wrong with me as I am more and more unaustralian the older I get and alienated from everything I used to like... but I love Virat Kholi! Am I alone? The guy is brilliant and I just love the way he gives it back to the precious aussies and they don’t like it much.

Certainly is Mike enough for the umpires Ian Gould & Aleem Dar to call off play early due to a dangerous pitch.
I can only ever remember that happening once before back in the 1990s in a West Indies vs England Test but that was within the first hour on Day 1 not the last session on Day 3 like today.
I wonder if the Test will be abandoned tomorrow?....if so it is not a good look for South African cricket or Wanderers Johannesburg especially with a series to come soon vs Australia.

the pitch was good enough for the curry puffs to make 247 but because it's flying around a bit for the saffies, the match referee calls it off. I'd be darker than Kamahl if I were the Indians....excuse the obvious pun. ;-)

Looks like they are going to resume on Day 4 after consultation with the ICC no doubt. The pitch is disgraceful and the venue may lose its test against Australia as a result. South Africa have absolutely zero chance of scoring 240 on that pitch and you have to hand it to the Indian batsmen who showed a heap of courage to take the blows and score 30's and 40's to get themselves in this position. The umpires have backed themselves into a corner by allowing India to bat on the minefield then taking the players off when a South African was hit. IMO the safety of the players should be paramount and they should call it off but given the indecision of the umpires earlier in the day and the other politics in play they probably have no option but to continue with the game and hopefully noone will get badly hurt.

If India can bat twice on it, so should South Africa. They produced the wicket and if they get some batters hurt they need to live with that outcome.

Remember before a ball was bowled South Africa picked 5 quick bowlers, and India didn't pick a spinner. To me that means they were not expecting to play on a road......

What would Starc, Cummings and Hazelwood do on a pitch like that, they all bowl 10 - 15km faster than the indians

let us hope the Boers come out and win it. credit goes to the Indian batsmen. Overall, the pitch is not unplayable.

AR nothing is impossible but if South Africa get over the line it will be regarded as one of their famous victories. Assuming of course that the Indian bowl in the right areas, there will be a ball with every batsman's name on it today. AB is one who could break it open with a counter attack.
