David Marr is reason enough for me to vote No,

No for me.
As you say with people like David Marr pushing it aggressively (like all the other yes voters) it's a turn off for me.

I don't post often. but.....

I had every intention of voting yes when I first heard about this topic. It doesn't effect me and all people should have the opportunity to be happy.

Now I am not so sure. The rabid left and their continuing attack on anyone or anything that disagrees or criticizes the yes vote scares me.

The Isreal Folau attacks on social media are a bit distressing. He is allowed an opinion
The fact that Sporting bodies are getting involved and having to take "sides" is appalling. Its sport. Stay out of it. Clearly they fear the criticism of not saying yes. No comment is as good as a no vote in the eyes of the Yes camp.

I am an AFL supporter and member of an AFL club. You don't speak on my behalf AFL.

What scares me is what will be next? The Social warriors amongst us will see this as a victory for bullying and scare tactics and an opportunity to ram their next project down our throats.

While I feel sorry for those that are genuine even as I type this I have now decided its a no

A no vote for me is a "no" against the yes camps attempt at Tyranny.

Does that not then mean a no vote is a "yes" for the no camps Tyranny?

Come on fellas, it's just a survey with a clear and simple question. I have voted yes as it will have absolutely zero impact on anyone else except those same sex couples that would then have the right to choose, that's all this is about. As for aggressive campaigning I don't think the Yes lobby are any better or worse than the no lobby, both are extreme which doesn't help either side. The one thing that shits me is when the churches stick their tarnished bibs into peoples private business. Surely the catholic church has forgone all rights to tell anyone how to live their life after protecting all those scumbag pedo priests.

Anyway my misses is wondering what all the fuss is about, she reckons we've been having the same sex ever since we were married!!

agree SS....the only one's getting all bent out of shape about it are the vocal minorities on both sides. The vast majority couldn't give a stuff if you'll excuse the pun.

The yes vote try to sell this deceptive line that it wil have zero impact on anything else, nothing could be furger from the truth,,

You'd have to be pretty naive to accept that these lobby groups don't have a hidden agenda.

As for the No vote being an extreme lot, find that very hard to accept given that just a few years ago clowns like Gillard Wong et all didn't think any change was warranted, and that just a few decades ago even suggesting two blokes could get married would of landed you in Graylands in pretty short time..

Anyone whom wants to see where it will lead without the protections for others in society should have a look at the cake case in the Ulster --the UK.

It's been reported that there have been something like 16 changes to the marriage act since its inception, this is the only time joe and Josephine public have been asked their opinion and it was only as recently as John Howards reign that the wording "between a man and a woman" was actually included. This is about the only time I've agreed with the Labor lefties, it should have just been a conscience vote in parliament a few years ago and nobody would have given a fat rats arse. Many states in the USA have this legislation and apparently, from all reports, the sky has not fallen in, and no other laws have been implemented that would require any other changes. This is all about democratic freedom of choice for a significant % of the population, around 10%. I also support the right for any church to have the freedom to decline to perform the marriage ceremony for same sex couples, there will have plenty of other alternatives to obtain a legally approved marriage. All a storm in a tea cup. More important issues to address, lets get this sorted and move on!!

They will make a decent quid, no wonder people like Marr are pushing it ( pardon the pun) .

In saying all that , they are already able to go to the family court now - defacto gays have same rights.
