Bit tough there, Unka.
I think it has been shown many times that the "talent" is unlikely to prosper in the absence of a competent administration.
I have a strong memory from many years ago when at a board meeting of a national body, of which I was the WA director, the Vic director made the comment (of the players) that "they wouldn't even understand where the balls come from".
He was right.

Welcome back Mr Spratt. And without talented sports people there would be NO SHOW at all. People go to the footy to watch the participants, even down to local footy. Admin people are a dime a dozen. A crap sportsperson doesnt last in the big league, crap administrators can leach from company to company, ( boys club) they fail and get a huge payout, and move on to the next company.

It gets down to a chicken and egg situation, doesn't it.

To use an example close to everyone's heart, have a look at the WAFL clubs, and ask yourself, do the successful clubs have better administrations - Subi being the most glaring example at one end of the spectrum, and (based on reading the laments of their long suffering faithful on this forum), Perth at the opposite end?

As much as you may dislike the AFL and ACB, they are very successful, and the guys running them "know where the balls come from".
