I know Subiaco supporters will say that they are used to Liam Ryan's aerial skills but that mark today was something special. Might as well hand him the mark of the year now. I am absolutely amazed that none of the AFL clubs gave him a chance in the draft. He seems to have good ground skills and that touch of magic and unpredictability that I would think AFL clubs would be attracted to. Well I'm sure Subiaco aren't complaining. Great to see the mark highlighted on the AFL coverage tonight too

Sshhhh mikeh. Don't say that too loudly! Otherwise we might lose him too?
I'm sure Subiaco would be very delighted if he stayed at the club and didn't go anywhere!
Have seen a couple of photos of the mark and would have been great to have seen.
Good to see the cluster of people watching the one Wafl team playing got their moneys worth.

It was a great mark Mike but you need to do a bit more than just the flashy stuff to get drafted. You don't get extra stats for big grabs or flashy goals. He is lazy, doesn't tackle or chase and is a poor trainer from what I hear from those at the coal face, thats why he wont get drafted.
Tbh I would rather Taryce Stewart in my team for the all round package he offers as a potential draftee.
Thats my opinion. But he offers a great highlights package for WAFL stalwarts

Pity you weren't actually at the game SD, Ryan worked very hard with 18 disposals out of a forward pocket, chased and harassed the opposition had 2 or 3 goal assists to go with the 2 he kicked, all in all a pretty reasonable game. Agree he doesn't tackle much, he seems to prefer using his sublime skills to strip the footy from the opposition, break free and create something.

I'm sure if he walked in the door at Basso or any other WAFL club he wouldn't be turned him away

He is definitely improving on those aspects that you highlight and at only 19 years has plenty of time to improve. Hope he is drafted by a non WA team so we don't have to go through the trauma of having him lay against us eg Yarran's match winning performance in last years GF
