Winton Abraham as a young fella was a beauty.....a bloke I played up in Broome with Revel EV Oakley could hit the packs like Skippy the kangaroo he just used to bound over us, his son now playing for Claremont is one to keep an eye on..,Troy Ugle at grandpa stage once showed me the undersole of his boots in an ammos game and another Swannie Paul Gow could jumped small rovers in a single bound, speaking from experience once again.

Hunky was a god to me in primary school DW, I used to pretend I was him in our lunch time kick to kick sessions by taking hangers on my nonplussed schoolmates shoulders in my SD no.10 guernsey. :cheer:

I still reckon a mark Troy Ugle took at Bassendean vs $ubi in 96 at the top of the Guildford end goalsquare where he launched a mile early onto a hapless Billy Monaghans shoulders and hung up there for an eternity and took it one handed in his right mitt whilst falling back on the long way back down to terra firma was the best mark I have ever seen live...what a hang!

John Zaikos was a freak for the Demons in the mid 80's liked getting air time so much natural ability and John Maguire loved a bit of hang time. Played his best footy for the Royals of course.

Who watched Today Tonight on seven tonight?...Ryan's mark was shown and definitely a beauty...they showed the Mitchell mark...how in hell that was paid as a mark beats me...pops straight out of his hands...Ralph and Bewick both took beauties too...sadly no Squizzy Taylor though

Brent Hutton was the purist aerialist with a great set of hands.

Peter Bosustow and Murray Couper had the agility of gymnasts.

but remember these guys were forwards who had the ball delivered on a plate most times.

Therefore the King for me was Ken Hunter who had to overcome his oppositions size and height and put his body on the line to take his specky's.

sometimes while running backwards!!

Jimmy Gidgup from Bruce Rock who played with Souths in the Sixties for a couple of seasons was a brilliant aerialist.

Yeah no doubt the Mitchell leap was super impressive (was eye level with the top of the 3 tier stand) I still remember it 32 years later but definitely not a mark as it fell out long before he hit the ground.
Taylor took some unbelievable grabs both at EF & SD but one he took at EF Oval in a Derby around 79/80 was as good as any ever taken.
Hunter was pound for pound the most courageous player I have seen.
