Agar and O'Keefe added to the squad, Cartwright contained in the 13 man squad

Maddison and Sayers are dropped from the squad. I'm not sure if Agar is ready to bat 6, and I cant see them playing 2 left arm spinners..........

I thought Mitch Marsh would get back in myself, they are missing his bowling and with the rest of the top order sorted now the 6 spot can be covered with less runs, his bowling is getting very good

That is the Pakistani team we all have learned to love.....amazing how they could lose a game after making 440 odd batting first ending their dig on day 3! Mitch Starc shows a snippet of his obvious ability.....touch wood the other Mitch took note! Being the Sydney test next, was surprised Maddinson getting dropped........if a second spinner was to come in than, would of hoped the Aussie selectors would of gone left field with the series won and play Swepson.....OKeefe and Agar dont turn it enough for my liking....Wade keeping to one spinner is painful enough.....let alone 2!.... surely he is not going to India?....FMD

A lot of people doubt Lyon's worth in the Aussie team - me included. But how do you argue why he shouldn't be in the team when he keeps taking wickets at vital times? As for Neville, who has he upset?

I think Agar was picked as a "horses for courses" selection, as he took a 7 wicket haul in a shield match at the SCG earlier in the season. If he plays he may find himself batting at 7 with Wade at 6.

I cannot believe (well actually I can with our selectors) that they have chosen O'Keefe a 32yo who bowls left arm straight breaks ahead of 23yo Agar who has actually shown something at Test level as a 19yo albeit mainly with the bat.
M.Waugh & his cronies continue to amaze even after R.Marsh has already taken the bullet for them!

Couldn't agree more BH. With a dead rubber test it was a perfect opportunity to have a look at Agar in the test arena ahead of the tour to India. Maybe Ashton needs to invest in a blue cap. ;) Jackson Bird was also very stiff, he was excellent in the 2nd test but maybe his batting at number 11 was just not up to scratch  . Having said that I wish Cartwright well in his debut.

Pretty sure OKeefe has been the leading wicket taker spinner wise in the Sheffield Shield over the last 5 years....so I guess he deserves first crack......Agar probably needs to take a few more wickets I guess on a consistent basis.....his day will come....I guess with Cartright making his debut they have opted for Okeefe and his greater experience instead of Agar bowling wise....especially if Cartright struggles with debutant nerves......though Okeefes injury record is a worry.

Yeah I know the Baggy Blue is the claytons version of a Baggy Green.....but to be honest take out those key contributions of those NSW boys Smith, Warner Starc, Hazlewood and Kwahaja(ex NSW), there is no way Aust would of won.....good to see Cartright get a look in, the selectors could of easily plumped for Moises hey?.....

Would of loved to of seen either Swepson or Zampa get a go tho.......because when Aust tour India surely a diverse spinning attack of a right handed off spinner(Lyon) left handed off spinner (Agar or Okeefe) and a leggie(Zampa/Swepson/ Ahmed)would of covered a variety of needs...plus Smith and a Travis Head as back up options.......I just hope we dont fill the team with fast/medium all rounders forr "depth"

Freeze dont forget Agar took 10 wickets at the SCG vs that Test team in waiting  NSW only a month or so back whilst O'Keefe took less than that old Kiwi trundler Somerville against that far far inferior WA batting line up! ;)

Mate....one haul of wickets doesnt make you a champ....I am an Agar fan but he needs to be taking wickets match in match out year in year out.....still only young so his time will come just not tomorrow....
