It's a disgrace.
WCE pay all the bills.
Other Clubs need to be self sufficient.
There should be some rules as to how much WCE can pay.

Spot on mate! Add to this the G6 clubs are battling away on a 2.2 million dollar a year budget turnover and I hear from the mouth of Hackdorn on PR this morning that clubs need to find more revenue streams and that next year we will be cut down to an 18 game season?? How the hell does playing one less game at home increase revenue I wonder?

Probably because others are sick to death of the whole alignment set-up! And why is the farce allowed to continue....

Not a bad turn around and I guess justifies why they grabbed the alignment, like most things in life - all about money in the end.

The only commentary I can supply is from what I see at the club and how it has changed since Dean Turner and the alignment came into being!

The most significant change is that the sponsors seemed to have increased and I would suspect that is to do with the alignment and having the brand associated with the weagles.

The habit of buying players and then paying exhorbitant amounts for transfers, housing etc has stopped and this is a significant change. The buying was a reason I left in 2000 when the first alignment came about, the buying continued.

When I returned abt 5 years ago there was a change in the development process and it has improved.

The other reason has been the amount of merchandise that has stopped walking out the door, you might imagine that would not be a huge amount but it was a significant cost.

The other costs that have been saved were in maintenance but that likely to change with the council realignment.

The comment about the weagles paying for everything may have been more accurate in the first year but the costs for the EP players in all three grades all come from EP.

I am not suggesting that the club is not better off but not all of it comes from the alignment, it has come from Turner actually running the club as a business rather than a club where spending is the only option.

You may know Grassy but I have not seen anywhere where the Eagles had an opportunity to join the VFL with their reserves side? When was this offered?
You can't knock back something that has not been put on the table, yes there has been talk of an AFL reserves comp for years but nothing official at all, just here say.

The WAFL clubs have a lot to answer for also, they are to easily bribed by money to vote for things they don't want.
It is of course all very political but it is here to stay the alignment, nothing will change it no matter how many different threads we talk about in.

The only way to change it is offer WAFL clubs more money than the WAFC do, who is going to do that?

With the Royals in such a sound financial position there should be no need for them to squeeze the povo boys down at Basso for a transfer on Freddie.
