Also they announced that they had paid the WAFC $6.01 mill. Not a bad return for the commission. If the Eagle pay the same, that makes a return for the WAFC of $12 mill. With the WAFL crying poor, where is the $12mill going?
Is the Commission far to weighty in staff numbers,. I don't know, but that is one hell of lot of money to come from two clubs.
Not wanting to start a bun fight, but just interested to know.

The figure of $400,000 to G Walton plus the Super levy of around $37,000 has been mentioned. The self-same G Walton who thought it was inappropriate for users of this site to be cognisant of his views on the WAFL.

Further, I believe three staff were paid a combined salary of $1,000,000.

It is my understanding WAFL clubs see less than 15% of that. The WAFC have a huge amount of employees most doing jobs that are just made up.
There are many people out there especially staunch Eagles and Dockers supporters who think the AFL props up WAFL footy clubs when in fact it could not be further from the truth. They certainly give a sizeable dividend to their owners which is fair enough but little goes to WAFL clubs.

That staff is massive, I didnt know Gumby works for them, the WAFC actually runs at a small loss each year after costs, but but this does not reflect the true situation as most of the profits are hidden in the two local AFL franchises, the Eagles alone have in excess of 45 Million in Cash Reserves making them the richest club in the AFL by far, both of them pay 2 Million each year to the WAFC as rent and maintenance for Subi Oval, in addition to other payments, the WCE bank on average $2.5 Mill PA clear.

Good run down on the staff by GWS.

Where most of the money/funding goes:

Special football programs, education
Juniors
DDC’s
Senior metropolitan community football
Womens football
Country CEO and office
Country community football programs
Umpiring
IT resources
Admin Staff
Corperate
Subi oval
And of course the WAFL.

Over 80 staff @ $100,000 pa & a dozen on $250,000 makes $10m plus a airliner to take them to AFL grand final for about $2m means they work their guts out for a minor loss. Good luck if you are on the band wagon because that's all it is. BUGGER the Fremantle & West Coast supporters..

I am no great fan of the WAFC let me tell ya but before everyone throws them under the bus for their "extensive" list of staff members I would advocate having a look at the staff numbers at the 2 VFL clubs based in Perth which would conservatively be triple that number of the WAFC and remember they are only looking after 1 club each not the ENTIRE football system in the biggest state in the country!
