I might suggest to you that this was a stage managed process on an independent broadcaster, the attempt to appear impartial and non aligned would have been first and foremost in Hirds and his managers mind.

The ABC would not have paid all that much but the questions and inferences would have still been managed.

Back on topic, it's hard to know in football circles who would have the balls to ask the tough questions. I thought about it and one of the best interviewers in football would have to be Mike Sheehan but then I recall Hirdy sitting on the couch next to Mike Sheehan and opposite Gerard Healy On The Couch just prior to his appointment at the Bumbers.

In fact I remember Mike Sheehan repeatedly asking Hird about his coaching aspirations at the time and suggested that moves were afoot to appoint him at Essendon, which of course he denied.

That was a hint of his character and what was to come I reckon and I reckon Mathew Knights might have been driving that karma bus that came around and cleaned him up.

And how INAPPROPRIATE was it that this interview took place at the Ethics Centre? I nearly choked on my bacon and egg sandwich this morning when I heard someone on radio ask a journo if Hird could get involved in the Ethics Centre as a speaker? WTF??

I have serious concerns for Hirds mental state, his approach and response to this whole saga beggars belief, it indicates a clear delusional state with strong narcissistic tendencies.
